That's how I was for a few weeks there but then it eventually picked up. Now I usually can pump between 4 and 5 oz in 10-20 minutes.

i had alot of problems too to begin with like cracked nipples where when i would nurse it felt like my nipple was being ripped off my body! i had cracked nipples i was in terrible pain. I even got and infection in my right boob. Pumping works for me no problems yet i do give him the boob 1-2 a day. I never bled so i really don't know what to say about that no advice there. You tried... if pumping doesn't work then atleast you know you gave it your best shot. maybe wait and see if you stop bleedin and give it another try? just a suggestion.

lol probably. ^_^ We never had any infections of any sort though...so I can take cracked nipples for a short time over having to fight off any infections. hehe And if my dd hadn't spit up at that time I never would have known my nipples were bleeding either...they weren't actively bleeding...just when she nursed.

of course it's not for you... it's for your baby.
jk--that's what I was thinking when I read it Subject Title.

At least you tried it right? And at least he's healthy, right?

A failure is someone that says, "Fuck it, if I can't feed him naturally, I'm not feeding him at all."
You're not a failure!

It's possible you had mastitis. Congratulations on trying and then also on feeding him what ended up working best for you guys!  It's not for everyone and you're doing great.

Well I just wanted to post this here its a group for mothers that could not breastfeed or for mama's with no milk supply im currently getting milk from a donor for my 3 wk old son. Although I don't think there is nothing wrong with formula feeding I felt really bad when my son started getting sick. So now he is drinking nothing but BM and its better for me. If you guys have any questions let me know.

are you using a screened donor?  don't you think a bank that pasteurizes the milk would be safer?

Sorry that doesn't sound safe to me. They say not even to use a used brestpump, even if the person is screened for disease. They say there are all kinds of things that are not tested for.

The only safe way to do it is through a bank because they very closely monitor diseases, storage temperature (I donate and have to report my freezer temp), and they pasteurize it.  Milk share isn't safe, however, milk banks are.  It's highly different.
