ugh!!! (vent)

Well my sil had her baby yesterday! He is sooo cute and was a wopping 8lbs 9oz. He is like the same size of Mariah right now and she is over a month old! But Im a little frustrated right now, My other sil ( her sister) just called and asked if they could use Mariah's carseat to get him out of the hosp! Very very long story but she dosent have anything for the baby really and I feel so bad for her b/c of her situation ( the dad lives in another state she left him blah blah blah) I said she could use it but its just a little frustrating b/c she had how long to think of this and still dosent have a carseat for him. Itsnot like she dosent have the money to buy one. I guess they went shopping the other day and shewas going to get one but they didnt think the box would fit in ther car( umm how about go home drop off the other kids and go back and buy it!!!) I do feel so bad for her but she had to know that babies require carseats and like I said I told her she could use it but what if she thinks she can just call me up ask ask to borrow it again whenever she needs it. What are they going to do in two days when the baby needs to go in for him 2 day check up? Is she just going to hold him in the car!(seriously her mom is the type to do that kind of shit WHOLE other story!!) I dont know I feel like Iam being a bitch but come on, she is 30 and this is her 3rd kid I just feel like she should have been more prepared!! Ifeel bad foe this little boy too he dosent have anything and now he's gotta go home in a pink carseat!! My mom and I arec going to go and get himsome diapers and some onsies today at least he will have that...Wait no I cant vb/c they willhave my carseat!!!!UGH!!!!!

yeah you ned to put some rules in place. Or let her know next time if she does ask that you are using it.

How annoying!

I'd make her sister go get the one from the store they were going to get but didn't have the room for.... but then I'm just mean that way  

if she can't afford that stuff, she should at the very least go on ebay or to a couple garage sales or something to get some stuff.
i got my car seat and stroller from my friend because her baby is too big for it and it only cost me $75! I'm 16, and I can afford that, certainly a 30 year old woman can support her kids.

I know I wanted to tell her flat out no but for some reason I just gave in and said ok. My hubbytold her no at the hosp yesterday and I just felt so bad b/c she is having a rough time and she deilvered on her own ( her mom just dropped her off such a bitch! when I had Mariah I had my mom there in the room as well as my husband and I know what an incredible support that is and she doesnt have that) , and she just looked sooo sad so I couldnt say no. But Im going to tell her mom when she comes to get it that this is a one time thing only and that she needs to get her own b/c I need it for my daughter. The stupidityin that family is just beyond belief thank god my husband isnt an idiot like the rest of them seem to be.

yeah i would be kind of put off too by that situation. The hospitals around here will give you a brand new FREE infant carseat if you dont have one... haha i guess its cheaper for them to give you a $60 carseat, instead of keeping you in the hospital another day ($5,000+). Call the hosp, and see if they do that before you loan out yours.

She didn't think the box would fit in the car??

Here's an idea... open the box, take out the car seat and fold the box and then put it in the car.

That way if for some reason something goes wrong w/in the first month of use or whatever, she'll still have the box.

That is the lamest excuse EVER!

She definitely needs to have a car seat for him. If she has 2 other children, doesn't she have clothes and things she can use from them??

Yeah that's what I thought, she is just making up excuses! Her youngest is like 6 I think so I could understand that she dosent have stuff from when they were little but still she KNOWS what you need when you have a baby and I just feel like there is no excuse. I talked to her sister last night again and she's like "well she is under alot of stress and dealing with everything on her own". Im sorry but there are plenty of women that are doing this on their own and still take care of their responsibilites and are perpared. She called again thismorningand asked if they could use it today for his wcc and I told them sorry but no.( I called my husband and told him and he was pissed and called and told them to go and buy one!!)I feel bad butI know that if I let her she will just expect it and Im not ok with that. I just feel like telling her to grow up! I mean Im 23yrs old and have my shit together more so than she does. I just dont understand how someone would put something off like that for their child. A carseat is an absolute neccesity I would never just put it off.

My husband comes from the same kind of stupid family. All I will say is be careful cause we let my SIL borrow a carseat we had just bought for our son while I was pregnant and to this day, she has never returned it or given us the money for it. That was 4 years ago!
