5 week pregnant and have had trace of diabetes before pregna

posted 17th Jul
Hi, am so trilled to be pregnant, however, two years ago I had some major tragedies in my life and started recordeing sugar level higher than normal due to the stress my body was undertaking. I was not place on any medication, but was simply told to monitor my sugar intake, eat healthier and exercise.
Two years later am now pregnant, but have had no need to be on medicaiton. Its abit scary to think of, becasue I don't want any complications or anythigng to harm my baby's development or myself. I want to enjoy my pregnancy and feel as normal as ALL other pregnant woman.
What's your thoughts?

when I was 5 I was diagnosed with Borderline diabetes. never put on meds just had to control it through diet. my Step dad was the same way but it was way later in his life. just make sure you're keeping up with it while you're pregnant and you will be fine. make sure you limit your sugar intake or just dont have any sugar at all.   the best of luck to you!

Continue to check your blood sugars. I began to monitor my daily sugars as soon as I got my BFP. I had to go on insulin shots (1each night) at twelve weeks. While my daytime sugars were normal my morning ones would not drop below 140 no matter what I did. While it sucked to stick myself with a needle everyday I don't regret one minute of it because I now have a beautiful healthy 10 month old boy.
