Chairs...

i went to go get a pedicure done the other day and i always have the same lady..shes a sweetheart..wel i guess she now realized im pregnant ( im 6 months) and wouldnt letme turn on teh massage part of the chair said it wasnt good for me..i hadnt ever even thought about this

...is it true that it could harmthe baby or me?

Wow, I never heard of that. I get my pedicures just for the massage chair...lol...Besides I dont see how it could be anymore harmful than prenatal massages and my doc recommends those. But I guess everyone has there own beliefs.

I have one of those massage pads that you lay on in bed, and it says on the label to not use it if you're pregnant.

I don't know what harm it could do-- I tried it before reading the warning label, and it always made my little girl kick like crazy.

I do not know what harm it causes, but my place where I go has not turned the back massage on since I was pregnant...hmmm...maybe because they say if you are going to get a massage while pregnant that you should go to someone who specializes in them.

im a nail tech and ive had a lot of customers that was pregnant and had a pedicure. didnt bother them. im also pregnant and i sit in the chair as well..

massaging and hitting certain pressure points could put you into early labor. Thats why you aren't supposed to get massages or foot rubs. At least wait until you are about 37 weeks preggo b/c then it doesn't matter if you go into labor   good luck momma!!

I went to school for massage therapy and i knwo certain pressure points can put you in early labor but i didnt think the chairs would do that...

yep i've heard of this. Something to do with a nerve in your back if the massage hits it it can harm the baby or something. Never really understood why just knew it wasnt good while prego my lego.

When i was pregnant with my son i went and got my nails and feet done and always used the massage chair but i always had it on the lowest and the lightest massage there was. It never sent me into early labor.
