Quoting Shes here!:“ i dont think colic, becuase she is easily soothed as soon as I pick her up.Possibly gas? she will be ... [snip!] ... all the sudden SCREAM and then fine for a couple mins then SCREAM I have been giving her mylicon after every feeding though”

Mylicon drops dont work at all for my son, the little tummys it what i have to buy him and then even when those dont work i have to give him 6oz of Chamomile tea. And that always gets the gas to pass and he calms down and is back to his normal self.

I agree with all the other mommies that 6 weeks is too young to CIO. I can't even bring myself to let my almost 6 month old CIO, but she has a serious temper and will hold her breath if she gets too worked up. When I've done all I can do for her (change her, feed her, soothe her) and she's still fussy, I just hold her and let her fuss it out in my arms. She's prone to fits and can be a sleep-fighter, so what I do is hold her, let her throw her fits without trying to comfort her, but she still knows I'm there. Then, when she's calmed herself down a bit, I go back to soothing her and patting her butt (which always puts her to sleep), and she'll eventually calm down and go to sleep. It's tough, but it's what works best for us.

I would not let a 6 week old CIO. I didn't let Lorelai CIO until around 8 or 9 months...when she started throwing tantrums.

i like that idea, thats kind of what happened. I was holding her n she was fussing, then she just fell asleep on her own

Yeah, it lets them know that you're still there for them, but you're not the one doing all the soothing...they do learn some self-soothing while in the security of your arms.

2 weeks i think, he got really bad gas because of the formula i was using. And i had no way to go and get the gas drops right then so i tried it with a little bit of sugar and he passed the gas and had a BM and was fine after that. So now everytime the drops wont work i just make him some Chamomile. (there is nothing in it to hurt/mess upthe babies system either so it's safe to give)
