Tooth problem

When Easton was 9 mths or so the Dr. prescribed us son iron drops since he was anemic. It stained his teeth and ever since we have not been able to get the stain off. The Dr. told us not to worry about it, but now at 15 mths it has actually eaten away some of his tooth. I'm going to have to get him an appt. with a pediatric dentist, but how the heck is that going to work out? I can hardly wrestle the little man into brushing his teeth. I'm totally bummed out that his perfect little tooth is now destroyed too  
Anyone have any advice or tips for me? I'd appreciate it much.

My brother was put on a combo of antibiotics for an unknown infection (now thought to have been strep) at 10 months old, just as his teeth were coming in. It absolutely ruined his baby teeth, they had no enamel on them and by the time he was two he had to have all the top ones pulled except for molars and the rest of the baby teeth capped... he looked a little funny til his adult teeth showed up when he was seven or so. Poor kid.

The dentist from my understanding if you have a really hard time with it will give them laughing gas but I'm not sure if that young he can have it. My nephew has crazy anxiety at age 7 and they had to fill his teeth and so they put this shnoz thing on his nose and it smells like strawberries and it just kind of makes them loopy and when they're small they have you sit in the chair and hold him on your lap. You may want to ask them though if you can wait til he's a bit older or see if they will give him the Nitrous at that age. It works like a charm though they just sit and get a little loopy and laugh while they fix his teeth. Good luck!

Like I said I am not sure they'd give him that at such a young age and it doesn't hurt him. Either way if they're gonna fix it they're gonna have to use an anestetic (sp) to numb it so a little laughing gas is harmless. I'm not a dentist though so I am unsure. Best thing to do is just call and ask questions. I can understand not wanting him drugged up though. They will have the answers for you.
