Strep-B???

Ok now i am 36weeks 2days i had Strep-B at the start of my pregnancy and i am ment to be tested at 36weeks.I had my midwife meeting on tuesday and i asked can you test me for strep-b as i had it at the start of my pregnancy and she amedeitley turned around and said NO and im like wtf but this is my babys life i want to get tested well in the end she didnt test me so i went to my docter yesterday and said look my midwife wont test me for strep-b and he said well your 36weeks and ment to be tested well no she wont test me,so he gave me a swab for strep-b and its sent away im sooo scared it doesnt come back with strep-b...Im realy at the point of changing my midwife becasue she doesnt listen to me its not about her its about me and my baby.do yuo think i should change i have 4weeks to go i dont know what to do my mum carnt stand her and wants me to change???

i would totally change!! what the hell is the point of having amidwife if she wont listen to what u wanna do??? might as well just stick with a dr if you've got one like that... find a new one if u can!

you really shouldn't be scared about it coming back positive. It's pretty common for it to be positive. They just give you penicillin through an IV at birth. Usually no problems should arise.

if your not comfortable then i would change no need in having someone that doesnt listen to you at all

i have Strep-B and its something you cant get rid of... im pretty sure anyways... but i had it and they give you antibiotics during labor through your IV... and my daughter came out fine! good luck hun! dont worry about it, i know its hard not too but you andyour baby will be fine! if your that worried, maybe you should talk to your doctor about it and he can give you information to help you out since your midwife doesnt seem to care.... good luck and take care!

strep-b is bad as your baby pases through your vigina it can cacth it and die ofcourse im going to be worryed...i wana change but i realy dont know what to say

and thats why they give you antibiotics....

they give you antibiotics for it and that very very rarely happens

I think you need to get rid of your midwife. I mean you asked her a question because you were concerned about the health of your baby and she didn't give you an explaination or anything as to why she wouldn't give you the test. That would tick me off! As for the strep b...i know you're going to worry. That's just what mommy's do, but it's not a big deal as long as they diagnose it and give you the antibiotics while you're in labor. My husband's aunt had a baby the beginning of July and she had strep b, but the baby is just fine...healthy as can be.
