Prescription weight loss pills
posted 16th Jul
I was wondering what the probability of attaining prescription weight loss pill would be? I'm 5'4" and currently 189 lbs. I'm technically considered "obese" according to my BMI which is 32.4. Both my mother and my grandmother underwent Gastric Bypass Surgery because they were both morbidly obese. Now I know I'm not that bad off but I still am not a healthy weight. I've been going to the gym and trying to eat right but the weight has pretty much been at a standstill since I was 6 wks PP.
I'm not quite sure if my doctor would be willing to give me any sort of prescription to help with weight loss, or even if there's anything that really works.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

My mother was morbidly obese, and they still wouldn't give her the rx's because of her blood pressure. Weight watchers worked for her, until she stopped going.

I went to a weightloss clinic for a few months before my wedding. I was 5'7" and 165. They gave me prescription weightloss drugs. They worked wonders. It really helped me learn to control my eating habits. Once the pills took the cravings and constant urges to eat away I learned to be able to control it myself. I lost about 35 lbs and kept it off until I got pregnant about 8 months later. I plan on going back after I finish breastfeeding.

there is a diet pill out now called ALLI that you can get at walmart or drugstores but you may have to ask for it at the pharmacy desk - not sure but it is the ONLY FDA APPROVED diet pill- it works on your digestive tract with no effects on your heart or liver at all. I have heard good things and am thinking about trying it- basically it absorbs a part of the fat that you eat without it ever getting to the rest of your body.

I took Adipex before and just from my experience I would suggest you try an alternative way. It made me have severe mood swings, I actually became violent toward my fiance. I lost the weight but we split up for about a month because he couldn't take my violent outbursts........I was so determined to lose the weight I didn't care at the time......I lost over 40lbs in 2 months.......we got back together and I stopped the pills. It wasn't worth it. I would be so scared to take that now with a baby........I could not live with myself if I did something crazy to my baby. Plus it makes you so jittery and it made my heart beat so fast.......Doctors will prescribe it to people that need it and that can all depend on your doc. There are those certain docs that you can pay and they will prescribe anything, you know the type.....but I wouldn't trust a doc like that....they won't do anything to make sure it is safe for you and that is scary! Please try something like diet and exercise or something like Alli first.......I would never chance it again!
