Books for Step Dads/Boyfriend?

posted 16th Jul
This is going to sound a lot trashier than it really is I suppose but I do not want your approval. Just feel that you need to know the situation a little to know what books I am looking for.
My ex boyfriend and I broke up when he found out I was pregnant (Turns out he thoroughly enjoys his girlfriends having abortions so he does not need to be a man!) But my best friend of like 7 years and I are together. He is really looking forward to me having the baby because we have pretty much been in love for years. He is currently deployed and is really sad that he is not here to experience my pregnancy with me. He makes the baby cd's and stuff and sends them so I can play his type of music for the baby to hear lol. But I thought it would be cute to send him some books about my pregnancy or something. You see books for expecting fathers and things, but is there any books anyone knows of for like step dads? Or your girlfriend is pregnant? Thanks guys!! Sorry this ended up being so HUGE!

There are quite a few good books out there for the daddy-to-be. Some are humorus and some are serious. If he is going to be home shortly after the birth you could always get him what to expect the first year.

'The A-Z of having a baby' by Jeff Green is a great book, it's funny as heck AND it applies to both mummy and daddy, so it doesn't matter if your boyfriend is liek a step dad, he can still learn from it

If he is truly going to be the dad, it doesn't matter whose blood the baby has. My step-father is a million times a better dad than my biological one. The same books apply.

I don't know of any books that are specifically for men who aren't biologically the daddy, but look at it this way.... Biology is just that - biology. It's the LOVE the baby is getting that matters most, not where his or her genes came from. If your boyfriend is going to love this baby and treat it like his own, which it seems he's all ready doing even from far away, then he is more of a daddy than the guy who helped conceive. So any books for an expecting daddy that you'd like are just fine!!

I gave my boyfriend "She's Having a Baby and I'm Having a Meltdown". It was pretty humorous, but also let him know a lot about my pregnancy and what to expect/do in the upcoming months.
