first pregnancy loss

Hi everyone,
My name is Serena and I am new to this site. I found out I was pregnant yesterday morning (@ 6 wks) and had a miscarriage (CSA) yesterday evening. My husband and I have just gotten married this June 28th, and after having been together for 7 years w/ no conception I thought we were infertile, and had started seeing my Dr about it. Well, Surprise! I found out that I was pregnant yesterday, both urine and blood tests confirmed it, but then I started spotting and my Dr said if it gets heavy go to ER, so I went to the hospital and had all sorts of tests done, but they say I am having a complete miscarriage. I am so sad... I had been celebrating a new position I took at work on Sunday, I drank a lot of beer and chopped wood, and lifted 80lb peices of metal yesterday AM (before the + test).. I feel like it's my fault. I was not expecting to just get pregnant without assistance (Rx) since it has been so long. I thought I was late due to "Wedding Stress" and so I didn't bother to take a test until I was 14 days late (to avoid the dissapointment of having it just be a late period) then to see "PREGNANT" in the window, then to lose it in the same day was horrible. I feel like its my fault for doing those things, even though the Dr says it's not the most likely cause of the miscarriage. I fear that it will take another 7 yrs, but my Mom and friends say once your body concieves once, its easier for it to again. Is that true? Does anyone else think so, or do you think they were trying to comfort me? Any advice is highly appreciated. Serena

I'm so sorry for your loss, and you absolutely should not feel responsible! Nothing that you did caused this. Anyway, I got pregnant last year and miscarried at just over 10 weeks in October. I was told to wait one cycle to try again and I was pregnant in like a month. I heard that it really is easier after you've conceived once. Anyway, good luck and I hope that you'll be expecting again before long 

I lost both of my babies within 2 weeks of finding out I was pregnant.   That has been one of the worst things in the world to go through. I'm so sorry for your loss!

It is true that once you conceive it's easier for you to conceive again. At least that was true for me. I was with my ex husband for 10 years and never prevented pregnancy, and we don't have a child together. I got pregnant not long after he and I had split up which turned out in my first miscarriage, then got pregnant again less then a year later that ended being my second miscarriage. Not even a year after that I got pregnant with my daughter and had the most healthy pregnancy and baby you could ever hope to have.   I now have two healthy children......so don't lose hope hun!

(Oh, and the ex husband just had a baby with his current wife....so it wasn't because neither of us couldn't have children.....it just worked out that way.)  

THanks for your words of encouragement, everyone, and I hope its easier this time... My Dr put me on prenatal vit's and told me to wait 1 cycle, so it's all I can do, I guess.
