Psoriasis questions.

posted 16th Jul
When I got pregnant in june 2007 psoriasis took over! Ok not completely took over but, really bothers me. I have it in my scalp and eyebrows. It's not bad but, enough for me to notice. I've been looking up stuff you can do at home to either 1) Relieve it..(It doesnt itch or burn. or 2) Make it disappear.
Is there anyone on here that has it? I have one cream that is from the doctor that works wonders but, my insurance recently went out so I cant get anymore and it's gone! ughhh, help? please

My husband has it and its greatly helped by sunshine and chlorine. He was on a steriod cream for a long time from a general practitioner and his dermatologist just took him off it because it was damaging the skin around the patches. He's been without it almost a month and it looks better than I've seen it in a long time because the skin around it has healed tremendously.

I've had psoriasis since I was 5 years old. It's very common for it to come around during times of stress or life changes. I rub castor oil on it.. which sounds crazy, but it actually seems to work. Also Watkins sells a salve calledred clover or something like that that helps. Pretty much any lotion so long as you are keeping it moist will help it go away. And trying not to stress out. I know you can get tar shampoo for it on your scalp, which I absolutely hated as a kid, it smells disgusting, and I don't remember if it worked or not. Bleh. Somehow I can still remember the smell though.
