Baby Shower *RANT*

So, like this is supposed to be in my honor and all that jazz. Why don't people even know what a registry is? Are you freaking serious? Do you live under a rock? Or better yet how hard is to to RSVP? Just call the number on the invatation and say, Hey I'm gonna be there! Oh and lets not forget I have to make all of the little favors or whatever you call them. Thats cool since I have nothing to do anyways, and I have to decorate my mom's house the day before. Oh and my dad's side of the family can't even be bothered to RSVP either, they should have been the first to call they are family. No one take offense to this, but apparently I am not black enough to be included in their family. I am bi-racial my mom is white and my dad is black. Well Im more pissed about my dad's side of the family not giving two shits about me and my son, although they will do everything for my cokehead cousin and her 5 daughters (she is only 24 and has lost custody of them about three times now). Well Im just really pissed, all I wanted was for them to be in my life, and I can't even get a phone call. If they don't decide to show up, I think I can't be bothered to tell them my son is born or be bothered to show up on Holidays, not that Im invited I have to call and find out who is having dinner. I know Im all emotional right now, but that just pisses me off! I guess you ahve to love family? Or do you? Sometimes love isn't enough!

That does suck! But why are you making the favors and decorating??? Your shower is for you. You should relaxed! But family drama is a given. I think we all have it. And it sucks...because in this day in age, we have the whole world to cause us drama and our family to keep us sane and support us!

People never freakin rsvp. I planned my wedding in a week and we were paying for hotel rooms for people and told them to please call asap and some didnt. People are rude and ignorant, family or not. My MIL has called me um maybe twice this pregnancy and apparently shes buying the crib. I guess she told hubby but I havent heard shit. Family pisses me off too.

I would call every person who didnt call and say "um I noticed you havent rsvp'd are you coming?" I know you are not supposed to but I want to point it out to everyone.

My baby shower invites went out Saturday and we put "Regrets only" We'll see if thats any better......

Mine was kindof a disaster....the room we had it in on the lake down from my job, was hot! my aunts were in charge of drinks..not hard right? Well i asked for water, mountain dew and dr pepper in cans...they bring sams cola and sierra mist... which i don't like either one of them. They stayed for maybe 10 mins then left....my dad was sooo pissed at them for screwin up such a simple order! My dad's been a lot more protective of me though now that i'm pregnant! After the rooms cooled off everything was fine....at least my second one this saturday will be much better!!

Thanx, actually we havent spoken in 4 years. I tried to reconsile when I found out I was pregnant, he was real nice the first time I talked to him. But that changed and he called me like two days later and made me cry. So I vowed never to talk to him, but I still talked to my grandparents and aunts, but even since I was a kid they never included me in the family. It just sucks, and I would really like them to come to the shower and meet Dan's family and see u/s pictures of Dakota.

My bestfriend was supposed to have me one she has put it off and everything she even said she sent out the invitations and i found them in her car-she's just waiting for my parents to come into town so she don't have to fork out all the money-I told my mom to forget it-I already bought everything that the baby needs-just don't tell somebody your gonna do something and not do it-the whole thing maks me furious-and to top it off she thinks she's going into the labor room with me-which she's not-I have a big deal with liars-I have no use for them-she's pregnant with twins-I promise I'm not throwing her a shower!!!

I'm sorry you're having to go through this~ especially being pregnant~ and no I don't think you have to love all your family~ if they don't treat you like family why would you treat them like family? I have a brother that has absolutely nothing to do with me or my sisters. They don't bother calling my parents on their b-days or mother's/father's day, but they will call them if they need a sitter or $$$ which is quite often. & you only see them on holidays when they are going to get a free meal or presents. Me & my sisters have nothing to do w/ him, his wife~ or their 6 kids. I already told my sisters I could care less if they get called when my son is born~ they haven't called me to ask how I am doing or anything~ I haven't even seen them since easter~ So i kinda understand what your going through with your dad's side of the family~ I would say if they are leaving you out, don't go out of your way to be included.

I can't say I blame you~ They may try to make you out as the bitch (my brother does) but oh well~ I don't really worry about it. They sound like losers, you don't need people like that around your kids anyway!
