Change in sleeping habits?

Just wondering if anyone else has had issues w/ a change in sleeping habits. Jimmy is almost 5 1/2 months & has been sleeping through the night for 3 months now (10p - 8a). but now suddenly we're awake 1-2 times per nite. Could this be his teeth finally about to come in? (He's been teething for quite some time) He does seem contented & goes right back to sleep after nursing. Could it be a growth spurt? Any suggestions?

Yes and yes - teeth growth spurt both either .

Babies aren't made to sleep through the night for the first 3 years of their life you'll have times when they wake during sleep for various reasons (teething, growth spurts, growing pains , dreams etc)

any estimate of how long this might last? a week & then back to our routine for a while? I really don't mind of course but i suppose i've been spoiled by such a good lil' boy  

it could definately be teething or a growth spurt but because hes actually nursing when he wakes up I would lean more towardsa growth spurt.

It could be anything. Teeth, growth spurt, learning something new could can also effect their sleep. I would say that usually they get back into a more normal pattern within a few weeks. But, it may still be slightly different from what you were use to. Maybe sleeping a little less or a little more, babies are constantly changing things up!
