1st Birthday oParties.

Okay so , the bf & I are planning a birthday party for our lil man.
His birth day is Dec. 15th. which is on a monday so I am throwing it the 14th.

I know its early but I started planning it because we have about 40 guest.
Most are his little baby cousins.
Well for parents who thrw the party, what theme did you do ( if any)?
Also What type of food did you serve?!
& also is it bad to tell the people i dont want NO toys what so ever.
I want him to get clothes, & some educational dvds & toys.
My parents said that is mean but i dont want him to get overly spoiled with toys.

That doesnt make sense.

I am planning my son's bday party too and his birthday isnt until December. I am either doing the Baby Einstein's theme or Baby Mickey theme.

As far as foods, I will probably serve finger foods so that the kids can eat as well as the parents. Nothing fancy.

And my son is having his own "little" cake.

well see, my brothers & sisters are super spoiled.
Every birthday all they got was toys, like he can have toys; but not as much as they always got.
I don't know what theme to do=[. I get this book with like party theme sets in it; but idk whats appropriate, i was thinking a dino theme, or a happy feet theme. He loves that movie he is watching it now.

ok i get it lol. im thinking of telling everyone to bring her one book and then whatever else they want. i feel like a bad mom because i dont read to her but we only have like 3 kids books and we've read them like 150 times each already lol. when people call to rsvp just tell them what you want. most people ask what they can get the kids anyway

Yeah, I understand what you are saying but in your original post you said that you didnt want him to get ANY TOYS and then in the next sentence you said you wanted him to get clothes, educational videos, and toys. So do you just want some toys??

If you get too many you can always put them up for later, or return them and get him other things. It sucks that their birthdays are so close to Christmas!

I read to him sometimes; but not all.
Like he doesnt like ot get read to at night.
I have to sing him to bed everytime.

& I mean I know he is gonna need toys to play with but; I just want him to get clothes & maybe even a book set , just things that he will actually need. see i want Olivia to get toys because she hardly has any. i know bad mom again lol she still plays with the baby baby toys and shes almost 1 and walking. she has no age appropriate toys right now and way to many cloths
