Yeah I am definitely going to try. My whole family lasted for 2 weeks & went to formula. I really want to breastfeed though.

Just ask when you go to your wic appointment and they will give you a booklet for $25 worth of fruit/veggies for a month. & than after the month is up they give you another 25 dollars.

Here in Idaho if your a breast feeding mother they include tuna and carrots. Since I have a 2 yr old son and I'm pregnant, every month this is what we get:
7 1/2 gallons milk
4 lbs cheese
2- 18 oz jars peanut butter or you can get beans
72 oz cereal
4- 64 oz juice
4 dozen eggs
This is super nice when we qualify because it totals between $120-$160 a month in products and we budget $150 a month for grocerys. I figure we pay our taxes and we don't live on it, so why not when we do qualify. They will also help with formula if you can't or decide not to breastfeed. I would recommend it. It's there for a reason.

Actually I have heard from many moms that they actually have less resful sleep at night when bottlefeeding because it takes longer to prepare the formula and bottle than just whipping out the boobie  . Plus you have to constantly wash bottles etc...I would prefer to just have it ready any time  .

There is no shame in that girl...you will do great! I would definitely apply for WIC if I were you. Another thing...if you breastfeed and go back to work, WIC will provide a pump for you.

From what my friends have told me..all who have done it for at least 6 months, is that sure, it can be sore in the beginning..especially if the baby has a poor latch, however as long as baby is latching properly it shouldn't be painful after the first couple weeks, plus it is such a wonderful bond that you get with your baby.

Actually, breastmilk is wayy better for your baby than formula.. FYI. Plus, the cholostrum gives them antibodies they need for immunity.
