A majority of the women in my family have gone into labor by doing some type of labor(they were full term and the doctor had no restrictions of course)
My mom carried bags of cement to help my grandpa mix it(my older sister).
My sister dug holes fora fence with my nephew,and helped set up her pool for my neice.My aunt was also helping with a pool for my cousin.My grandma was putting up drywall for 2!!of her sons
Of course its up to the baby has to be ready but i thought it was ironic that all the women in my family need to do is build something and the baby will come  
I might get a bird house kit lol jk

Okay...no one bite my head off...I tried castor oil. I tried it at 38 weeks and apparently it won't work if you're not ready anyway. And it gave me the runs SOOOO bad. It did put me into labor, but the labor stopped after about 12 hours. And the progress I made closed back up by my next appointment. Now it makes me sick to even look at a bottle of castor oil. Though I have heard of it working for some people and my midwife even recommends it after 40 weeks. But it is AWFUL. I did one dose in soda (VERY hard to do) and the next in a milkshake (easier, but still nasty as hell). Now don't be too harsh...

See thats what I'm scared of. Risking something and then in the end nothing to show for it. I don't want to be miserable for hours if I don't go into labor. That would suck. I drank it once when I was little. And its nasty so I'll give you props.

Id be affraid because it gives you diahrea(sp?)and then if you were to actually go into labor which can make "things" come out normally,it could get messy and id like to spare myself from the embarssment.Im already scared i will poo while having Gabby!

Well that's just the thing...you crap so much at the begginning that you're compltely cleaned out by the time you're ready to push!

Well iwent to my from my 41 week appointment yesterdayand i still havnt dialated or anything and my cervix is still completly posterier!! so he set me up to come in sunday evening at 530 to be induced, but said hes 99% sure ill end up having a csection first thing Monday morning which is also hubby's birthday!!
He sent me to l&d today for a stress test and for an ultrasound and both test came back good, if there had been something he didnt like on either one he was gonna induceme today but everything was fine, and i would rather wait a few more days and everythying be fine than it be today, but something be wrong.. So it looks as if my hubby will be getting his daughter for his b-day!!!!

lol i guess that is a plus.I had my gallbladder removed last year and still have issues with certain foods that go right threw me.So if i was in labor all i need to do is eat something my body doesn't agree with and boom its out of me!lol

we have always been competive like in getting each other the "best gifts " and i told hubby that hed never be able to out do that birthday present..

I'm 38 weeks as of tomorrow and as of yesterday only a fingertip dilated and 20% effaced-blah. Plus my little man(who is also not so little) has yet to drop. Doc said 90% of first time moms drop 4 weeks before labor, so hes worried that the baby cant fit into my pelvs-but of course isnt doing anything to check on him or discussing induction/c-section, until the week following my due date-blah. Add to that the constant lower backaches and cramps, and im miserable at the moment

well at my 38 week appt im not dilated im not thinned or nothing he hasnt even dropped! but my 39 week appt today and we will see what happens!?

Well I'm 2cm dilated, 50%effaced and at a -1 station. I'm waiting to hear back from the doc on whether we'll be inducing on Friday or not. My fam had an emergency and some fam members have to fly to Texas on Tuesday, so I'm hoping the doc approves the induction for Friday, otherwise half of my fam won't be here for the birth. =( If he doesn't agree to inducing on Friday I think I am just gonna wait it out until he decides to come or until the doc says I have to be induced.

Ya know what's funny though..How come a doc can say they will give you a call around 9:30 and then you don't hear from them until hours later && it's okay?? BUT if I was that late to an appointment the nurses would prob be complete assholes. !

I feel your pain, but have to say Ifeel better that I'm not the only one at this point. Good luck today!!
