With my first baby we were tight on money and the announcements in the hospital were expensive, so we never did it. However I really wanted too. This time around I'm thinking about going through Shutterfly.com that way I can choose my own pic and I have more control over design and price. What is everyone else doing?

I didnt do them this time around. I just sent out pictures and wrote on the back of them.

we made Elliot's through snap fish. they were super cute and cheap but, felt it was a waste of money. the just get thrown in a box or drawer and forgotten about

Some of the photos at the hospital aren't too bad Depending on what company is doing the photos. I worked for one for a while called Our 365, some of the packages were decent. But to be honest you can take pictures with a digital in the same way they do theirs, and then just get them made into announcements.
