Help with Appetizers!

posted 15th Jul
Okay ladies. I am having a game night party on Saturday and I'm stumped as to what to make for an appetizer. I love to cook, but I'm tired of my same old recipes...I need some ideas!

Ingredients

DIPPING SAUCE

    Directions

    1. 1

Sprinkle salt over the shredded cabbage and let stand for 5 minutes, then squeeze out liquid.
      2

Squeeze out any liquid from the shrimp.
      3

Mix cabbage, shrimp, pork, soy, wine, onion, oil, ginger and garlic (filling can be mixed and refrigerated for up to 6 hours in advance).
      4

On each wrapper (keep them covered with a damp cloth so they do no dry out) place about 2 tsp of the mix and seal the edges, use a bit of water on the edge, try to press out all the air and ensure they are tightly sealed (At this point you can freeze them individually on a cookie sheet and them place in a plastic bag. They will keep for a month. Defrost in fridge before continuing).
      5

In 2 large skillets heat 1 tbsp oil, fry 16 dumplings for 1 minute or until golden on one side add 1/4 cup of stock into the pan, reduce heat to low, cover and cook, without turning for about 7 minutes or until the dumpling is translucent and most of the liquid has evaporated Uncover and on higher heat cook for another 5-7 minutes or until the bottoms are dark brown, drain put on a platter and keep warm.
      6

Repeat for the remaining 32 dumplings.
      7

Mix the dipping sauce and serve with warm or hot dumplings.

Jalapeno Popper Wontons (THESE ARE SO GOOD!)

    INGREDIENTS:

    1 (8 ounce) package cream
    cheese, softened
1 (4 ounce) can diced jalapeno
    peppers
    20 (3.5 inch square) wonton
    wrappers
    1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
    oil for deep frying
    DIRECTIONS:
1.In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese and jalapeno peppers. Arrange wonton wrappers a few at a time on a clean dry surface. Set a cup or small bowl of water nearby. Place about a teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each wrapper. Moisten your fingertip in the bowl of water and trace the edges of the wonton wrappers. Fold into triangles or follow directions on the package for desired shapes. This part can be done ahead of time and refrigerated or frozen.
2.Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). When hot, fry the wontons a few at a time until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with all of the wontons, then serve with the sweet chili sauce for dipping.

My hubby begs me to make him these all the time! Another Huge Hit I make is Bacon Wrapped Dates 0 yes doenst sound that great but let me tell you they are incredible even for ppl that don't like dates. If you are feeling really creative put a bit of sharp cheese in the date before you wrap them OMG soooooo goood! Cook at 350 for about 20 min or until bacon browns!!!
