water?

So the nutritionist at WIC told me to give my 3 and 1/2 month son at least 3 oz of water a day but he just won't drink it. I know that it isnt' safe to give children under 1 year old honey but what is the scoop on Karo syrup or brown sugar. You know just a pinch to give the water a little, little bit of flavor.

babies get all the water they need from bm or formula...they don't need extra unless they aren't peeing min 6 x's a day.

you CAN actually give very small diluted amounts of brown sugar, or Karo syrup, but mind you, VERY small lol, it also helps with constipation.

That's a lot of water for a 3 1/2 month old. My pedi told me not to give anymore than 1 oz of water a day. He told me that they actually get all the water from the formula or BM. When you should start giving them water is when they start eating solids. I would ask your pedi about it first before listening to the WIC people.
