If tomorrow it starts bothering her, bring her back and demand something!
If it is 5ths disease there is nothing you can do, but wait it out.

Wow. They acted like it was really serious when I went in... but it might have been because I was so far along in my pregnancy. I'm not sure what the ages are on it, but if she's old enough, you might try some benadryl. It knocked me out, but really helped.

the dr. did advise me to get checked to see if i am immune to fifths. but she also said it might not be fifths. I just want to know what it could be. I asked if it could be an allergic reaction and i told her how we had a huge ant problem the other day in which i sprayed raid around the house but i did that late at night when my kiddo would'nt be in the way and she said that wouldn't do it. I also had cinnamon in her room i am extremely organic around her and we eat cinnamon buns durring the winter so that couldn't be it and i can't think of anything else that could be it.

See I never got the slapped look. I did however get a bit blotchy towards the end.

my daughter had the same exact thing. it started in the morning and she was covered by the evening. i took her to an after hours clinic and they said it was probably something she ate and was allergic to or something else that irritated her skin. they just gave me benadryl and it went away in a day

how old was your daughter and what kind of benadryl did you give her?? Is there one for kids?

I think a chamomille (sp) tea bath might help with it if it is bothering her.

I would call around and get a 2nd opinion though.

she was around 1 year. the doctor prescribed it and it looked exactly like that rash your daughter has so i'm thinking it's the same thing. i know it was an allergic reaction cause the benadryl helped immediately and hers didn't itch either, it didn't seem like it bothered her one bit
