My Labor Story! Benjamin Harvey Reid is HERE!!!
posted 14th Jul
Gosh I just haven't had time to get on here and do anything lately. But here is my EASY labor story!
Benjamin Harvey Reid arrived on 6/26/08 @ 6:20pm. 5lbs8oz, 18 1/2 inches long!
I was induced at 38 weeks due to GD. I went in at 6:30am, they started pitocin at about 7:45am, contactions started immeidetly! I was at a 2cm and 60%. Dr broke my water at 8:30ish, contractions got stronger. They would turn up the pitocin drip and contactions would get stronger and right on top of each other, she had to come in and turn DOWN the drip a couple times. I got my epi about 12ish, was only at a 3cm, 100%. WELL, I told her would take me forever to get past a 5 and I was right. So I dozed on/off rest of afternoon, had a roomfull of people, hubby, dad, Gma, ect. Well I stayed at 3cm all day, contactions were going good, just not dialting. WELL at 4:45 she check me and FINALLY I was at a 6cm!! YAY!! She put in internal monitor and everyone went to run their errands before the big moment, we were sure we had a couple more hours, so hubby went to let dog out, (we live like 10-15 min from hospital), my best friend went home to take her 5 wk old baby home and my dad went to get my son and feed himself and my Gma! WELL about 5:15-5:20.the nurse came in and said she saw something on monitor and wanted to check me, WELL I was at a 10CM!!! She put oxygen on me and I just waited till they got ready. I had to text my hubby and call my best friend and tell eveyone to get back ASAP!!! So while they preped the room, got dr back there we actually had to wait on hubby and best friend for about 10 min!! SO I had 3 contracitons, pushed about 2-3 times per contacition, pushed him out in about 15 mins!! NO tearing or episotomy!!! He was so tiny!! All healthy, just little!! Epi worked great, didn't feel a thing!! AND LADIES the perinum massage works!!! I did get epistomy with 1st kid, now he had a HUGE head, but I think the massage worked too!! This one was just as easy as my first, a little easier!!
