re: Delivery room.

Quoting LoveAndSerenity:“ Wow, your room must have been huge in order to fit that many people, not including the bed, the baby warmer, all of the nurses and dr. among room for other things.”

I only had like 2or3 nurses and then my doctor.
Everyone kept asking if they needed to leave but the nurses kept telling them "No, we have enough room to move around"

I had my dad in the delivery room with me. He stayed by my head the whole time. My ex-boyfriend was in basic training at the time so he wasnt there.

Wow, maybe it just seemed like I had more people in the room when I did then. I know I had at least 4 nurses, and the doc, but I swear there were more than 5 people in there, and it was kind of congested (from my view), despite having a large room as well.

I just had my husband in there. Our families are both in North Carolina, and we were in Louisiana. I wanted them there after we came home from the hospital because that's when I needed all the help. It's up to you who you want in there. To be honest with you, when you're in active labor, you're not going to care who's in the room! My sister is 7 months pregnant and wants my BIL and me in the room. Next time I have a baby, I definitely want my mom in the room with me.

you and i have the same problem! it seems like everyone i know (and their mama) has INVITED themselves into my delivery room! i'm talking people i haven't been in contact with in the last three years think they have a right to be there! everyone is like "oh you better call me when your water breaks!" and i'm thinking, yeah... calling everyone in my cell phone will be my number one priority when that happens! whatever. for me it's not the embarrasment of being exposed with random fluids coming out of me that makes me only want my boyfriend in there, but i really don't handle pain well. i don't wuss out but i do turn into a super bitch. so to save my mom from having to hear her sweet daughter cuss like an old sailor and to prevent telling off my future MIL (which i want to do on a daily basis anyway) i told the nurses and doctor that only my bf is allowed in their. i even put in in writing on a birthing plan. good luck!!

I plan to have my hubby(if he can make it) and my mom. His family seem to all think they're going to be in the room with me, but I don't even plan on calling anyone until afterward. But maybe I'm just a bitch like that:-/

It was just my fiance with me. My mom and cousin both work at the hospital I delivered at and both stopped in to check on me. In retrospect, I wish my mom would have been in the room too.
Like others said you can tell her you're only allowed two people and then just ask the nurses to reinforce that rule, that way you won't feel like the bad guy and she can't blame you for missing out.

My ex fiance was with me as well. I kicked everyone out when the nurse told me that i could start pushing but all day my mom was there and his brother and sister came down and i had a few friends up there.
This time around i Only want my boyfriend there all day and maybe some of our friends.

My sister and my husband will be by my side. My sister will be the support for my husband so he doesn't pass out.

Everyone else can wait outside. I don't want any additional pressure from family members staring at me and waiting.

Just me, the nurses and doctors. Just the way I wanted it.

I let my bf and my mom to come in right after Kalen came out so that he could cut the cord.

I personally would like it to just be myself and the nurses and dr's, i think it might be a little less stressful with the less people but then again i might want him therefor support.& i could NOT tell my boyfriend that he couldnt watch.. i think he has a right to IMO. How did you tell him he couldnt be in there with you and how did he react?
