Bleeding gums?

This didn't happen to me with my first pregnancy..but my girlfriend said it was normal. Everytime I brush my teeth my gums bleed like crazy..its as though I am brushing them with a effin razor blade..(tmi sry) its really gross. It doesn't hurt and I just had a checkup with the dentist 4 months ago, everything was good. Anyone else ever go through this? Will this continue throughout the pregnancy or subside?

yep it's called pregnancy gingivitis... my sink looks like a bloody massacre when I'm done brushing my teeth every morning, it's normal! It's from all the extra blood flow.

this is my first pregnancy and my gums are bleeding too.....they're swelling up too...i think you're supposed to see the dentist when you get pregnant just to make sure everything is ok

Yes I went through the same thing with both my children. And recently it started with this one. I don't really know why it happens but it is pretty gross.

Totally normal! Flossing everyday will help them not be as tender after about a week or so..

I had some soreness of the gums and my teeth even felt loose in the beginnings of my pregnancy, but thankfully that has gone away. Hopefully it will for you too!

That happens to me too. My mother's gums continued to be sensitive after giving birth but didn't bleed as much.

My doctor said that it was normal

Yuck my gums bleed like I got bitch slapped or something. I've tried flossing and mouth was, heh makes it worse. And my teeth feel weird like they are sore or something, hoping it all goes away with my fat!

Thanks ladies! I was completely grossed out by it. I am relieved to hear its normal. I think I'll just call my dentist and set up another visit...

Does your dentist require a release from your OBGYN? I tried to set up an appointment for a cleaning and the bitchy lady won't let me see the dentist with out a release to treat me, I was like treat what? I want you to clean my teeth!
