Crib or ?

posted 13th Jul
For the first few weeks (months??) of his life what should Noah sleep in? Is it okay to put a baby in a crib right away? Or should I keep him in bed by me, or what? Any help is more than welcome lol! I'm totally confused!!

We kept Landen is his pack n play bassinet thingy for the first few weeks and we had it in our room just in case anything happened.

I kept both of my kids in a bassinet next to my bed, and that is where they slept if they didn't sleep with me.

it is up to you. IF you do a "family" bed, make sure you get the proper sleep positioner for the baby- it will aid in not h aving you roll over on him.

You can, however, put him in the crib right away.

I have heard this works the best.. this is what I plan on doing .... But I personally don't have any experience

Its a personal choice if you choose to co-sleep. You have to feel uncomfortable with sleeping next to your child, and knowing, even in the dead of sleep, do you trust yourself, and your spouse to not roll over on your baby?
We co-sleep, and I feel it bonds us closer to our son, but again, personal choice ^-^

I have a crib and a bassinet and a sleep positioner for bedsharing. At night, I plan on having the baby sleep in my bed with me, or in the bassinet beside my bed. Even though, I have the crib in my bedroom as well. And during the day when the baby is napping, I plan on having the baby sleep in the bassinet beside me wherever I may be! I don't plan on using the crib until the baby outgrows the bassinet.

i will be putting my baby in a crib straight away. its not going to hurt them to be in a different room. i think its better that way coz then they dont get used to you being right there all the time

those sleep positioners really arent safe. the baby can suffocate on it.

Well since I'm only 15 my baby will be sharing a room with me anyway so his crib will be in my room with me.

In the end it is your choice, but I couldn't stand the THOUGHT of my little tiny newborn being in a bed away from me.....They both slept with/by me until they were 5 months old...

something more like this was what I was thinking:

but, in searching for this image, i found a TON of images of cribs and bassinets that link directly to a bed... like these:

I guess it goes right up to the side of the bed...

I did the same with all three of mine and I plan to do the same with this one. It just makes me feel more comfortable.
