Quoting LuLu Rockstar:“ it's nudity with the object of being sexual when you're too young to even think about having sex.”

15 year olds have been thinking about/having sex for as long as there has been sex. It's not necessarily a good thing, but it's also a reality. This girl is no different from any other 15 year old.

Instead of being so freaked out about nudity (which I believe teaches our kids to think that nudity is simply for sexual purposes and not the most natural state a human being can be in), why not teach your kids that nudity is normal and natural? While also teaching them that they don't need to be sexual so early and what the consequences are? No matter what you think of the media, what YOU teach them will have far more weight.

i'm not knocking your opinion, i agree with most of what you're saying. i'm just finding that girls are trusting less and less in their moms and more and more on what their peers are saying. peer pressure can be a horrible influence when your friends are telling you that you're a loser if you don't go along with what they say.

i've got naked baby pix of me after rolling around in the mud when my mom stuck me in the bathtub. i've got a pic of my brother trying to go back outside and play in the rain with his towel falling down and exposing his butt (funny ass pic lol!!). my family has numerous naked bathtub pix.

i just find it really worrisome that the world presents this attitude of, it's okay, do what you want, don't listen to mom and dad, they're just old-fashioned and boring, they don't know what's going on at all. it's scary how your parental authority can be undermined so easily without your knowing, and it's making the whole world situation worse.

I will have to agree to disagree with you on this.

I just don't agree. Sure kids like to mimic what they see on tv, but your words still hold more weight. No matter what you think they are hearing from friends, etc. Your words will always be in the back of their mind.

They will still make mistakes, no doubt. But it's time to stop blaming the media for all of our problems and start taking responsibility as parents.

Be honest.

I intend to be honest with my son. Tell him about the mistakes that I made and what happened when I made them. I'm not naive enough to believe it will stop him from making mistakes...but I'll never give him reason to think I've lied to him.

yeah i can't stand lying to your child. it undermines their trust in you when they grow older. i just want to have a smart kid. i don't wanna mess up and be a bad mom. oh well i guess we're all gonna make mistakes, inevitably.

Honestly, I have to think if girls are becoming less open with their mothers, it's because in many cases the mothers are not taking the time for their daughters in the first place. Part of that is because many families have both families working now where in the past the mother often stayed home, and part of that is parents allowing media and entertainment to babysit their children to give them time to themselves.
