breech baby and belly measurement

posted 13th Jul
I gotta couple questions. I am 32 weeks pregnant and I am measuring 39cm when the do the belly measurment at the doctor. The ultrasound I had done last Thursday said my baby is about 5lbs. 4ozs. I was wondering if anyone else is this big at this stage of pregnancy? I do have extra amniotic fluid but I thought the baby gains about 1/2 pound a week....I wonder if she is going to be huge.

My baby girl is also in a breech postion. The doctor said he will try to turn her the next visit which is Tuesday if she is still breech. Has anyone had this done and what does it consist of. I was a little overwhelmed at my last visit and didn't think to ask these questions.

Thanks for any information!!

the fact that she is breech could be throwing off your measurements.

I chose NOT to do it, I had a c-section.

You have the choice to NOT do it FYI, there is a risk, and it can be very painfull!
Also, the baby can also turn back to the breech position... PLEASE inform yourself before you chose ...

wow..i didn't know it would be that complicated. The way the doctor made it sound he would do it on the next visit but the information on the site says you need to be 36 weeks. Thanks for the site.

No problem! I have a bit of a problem with that procedure. It's one of my only heated topics

my baby was 5lbs at 34 weeks, and 7lbs9oz at birth so you may have a big baby.
I honestly think you'll end up getting a c-section. It's already pretty late for the baby to turn, and she's just going to keep growing in the next weeks.
I had a c-section because my baby was face-up during pushing, and let me tell you it is really not bad at all, well mine wasn't.

hmm.. i'm not breech (they thought he was but did an ultrasound and he's head down) but i've also been measuring MUCH bigger since about the beginning of my third trimester.. right now i'm 38 weeks and measuring 43 cm.. and at my ultrasound which was done at 35 weeks they said my baby was roughly 7 lbs, 5 oz.!

I chose not to do it to and have a c-section. I didn't want to take any of the risks. My son was measuring big too and i had him at 37 weeks 1 day. He weighed 6lbs 13 oz and was only 17.5 inches. He was short and chunky lol.

I'm not sure what your first question is, but the video shows how it's done...

I'm trying to ask like what is the breech position? I mean people keep talking about it saying that's what their baby is and I haven't a clue what they are talking about.
