how long are your contractions lasting? and how far apart?

Some people can lose their mucus plug and nothing happens, they can regrow.

it's up to you... i wouldn't wait until you couldn't bear it because you could get there and be pretty far along.. you need to time your contractions.. 3-5 min apart for 30 sec - 1 min each... then go

You need to time your contractions.

When they're about 5 minutes apart...head in. Otherwise just wait it out, there's nothing the hospital can do besides wait with you or send you back home.

Just walk for a while. I paced the kitchen at my grandpa's house for a couple hours because I didn't want to sit in the hospital all night or be sent back home for false labor. Once I got to the hospital I wasn't even allowed to get out of the bed and I plan to spend most of my labor time at home this time too. Are you far from the hospital?

i waited til i couldnt bare the pain anymore. I got in the shower and that helped ease the pain a little bit. before you go to the hospital, try to eat something. once they admit you, you cant til the baby is born. good luck hun!!

I would say first try and calm down. Second, are you timing your contractions? Are they at least 5 mins apart? If you are freaking that bad...I say go. Don't wait too long. It limits your options on what pain meds can be given.

defenitely try the shower it works wonders, but be prepared that when you come out your contractions may get worse or be closer together.

As everyone else said, time them. If possible, time them and take a shower as well. And if they are in fact contractions, and able to be timed, and they are consistent, I recommend eating something- as you won't be able to until after the baby is born.

When I was in labor, I walked to Dairy Queen! Best damn slushee of my life.
