needles

posted 12th Jul
my son got his two month needle on thursday...
all day yesterday [saturday] it seemed like all he
wanted to do was sleep...
usually he'll eat six to eight oz every three to
four hours...he threw up about three times in total
today and he barely drank any oz's ...

i'm just wondering if this is maybe because of his needles
or not...if this has happened to any of your kids please
respond back because i'm starting to worry...

also...he hasn't pooed in about a day now so i'm just
going to give him water 'til he poos and 'til his tummy
seems to settle down a bit...

p.s- i just gave him some tempra now to see
if it'll help...

RESPONES GREATLY APPRECIATED

when lacey got her shots, she slept pretty much slept for 2 days straight. she was drinking 4 ounces and was only taking about 2 1/2 ounces every 4 hrs. so its normal.

Mine was pukey after his shots as well. I wouldn't recommend the water, especially since he's throwing up what few calories he's actually getting. Just give smaller amounts at a time, kind of let him sip at it, I did this with mine at after and he wasn't as sick. Also, I found holding him upright against my chest seemed to help his tummy and keep him a little calmer. Good luck!

If you're formula feeding you should try giving him an oz of pedialyte every half hour (that's the advice my doc gave me when my neice was doing that) If you are bf tho there is a lot of water in there and is actually better for him if he's sick than anything else because he actually transfers the infection through your nipple (just a little) then you produce the antibodies and give then back to him.
