posted 12th Jul
idk ive seen some pretty awesome youtube vids about natural births where the mom just grunts a bit and the baby is out. but uh...i had a natural birth and it sure as FUCK wasnt pain free. HEEEEEEELL no. i think your friend is on crack or something. i have always heard stories about someones friend or cousin or sister or SOMETHING who didnt know she was pregnant til the bay was born...i find that to be a big pile of shit

i totally agree about mind control. I would had tried all natural if it wasnt over my BP. The dr gave me a choice of epi or c-section, i chose epi!

Hahaha...I hope that's what it means...cuz I've been miserable most of the time and I still have 16 weeks to go...soooo if it works that way...then you'll have the shitty child birth and I'll get a smooth ride!! hahahaha

i wasnt crazy either. mine was just physically miserable. he was in my ribs the entire time and kicked A LOT. then at 36 wks i got the flu and coughed until 6 wks after i had him. no joke. that made the ribs hurt even worse!

Agreed. For me pushing was the worst.

Pushing and the "DECENT" of the baby down the canal hurt omg ahhh.

i was a loser. i was screaming. my bum is gonna rip....my buuuumm is riiiipping . pushing didnt hurt for me really. it was the contractions leading up toit, and the pressure of her head coming down. then again i only pushed 2 times. i just pushed until i flet her head come out

The contractions where a day at the beach compared to pushing for me.

But every woman is diffrent.

At the end before I started to push, every contraction I could feel her head get lower and lower It hurt so bad to not push, pushing was a relief from the INTENSE pressure but it hurt like a bitch!

I definitely believe there are people out there that can control their pain level.

I had back labor, and for awhile before the gave me the wonder drug that is the epi, I was able to redirect my thoughts so I wasn't focusing on the pain, so instead of feeling it full force, it wasn't really registering.

That is, until they kicked up the pitocin.
After that - that redirecting my thoughts bullshit went RIGHT out the window.

no way for it to be both.... unless you are one of those 100 people in the world that cant feel pain, that is.

Childbirth will ALWAYS have pain associated with it. I mean, COME ONE... common sense says "something that large, coming out of something that small WILL be painful"

I have never even gotten a papercut that wasn't painful and that was SO tiny!

I am interested in reading some of the posts to see if anyone has had a NATURAL PAINFREE birth... I doubt there will be one.

Well I have never experienced a 'pain free' labor, but have been able to reduce the pain with relaxation, focus and breathing.

Originally labor was pain free, but after the fall of Adam and Eve, God told us that our labor pains would be intensified. Throughout the Bible immense pain is compared to labor pains. It's actually quite interesting how many times enormous pain is compared to labor pains in the Bible.

That being said, I've gone through it 3 times and this one will be as well.

Maybe if your paralized from the waste down it would be painless. There is a reason they call it the "ring of fire" for a reason.

with my first i had it all natural.... and when i was in the warm tub.. the pain was reduced significantly so i think its possible with maybe a water birth

I imagine it's possible, but I could only see it happening in certain people with high pain thresholds, or someone who has mastered the art of blocking their pain receptors, heh.

Man, I'd love to learn that trick.

Well, gee, thanks for making me so famous. Way to go on continuing the negativity in the birthing community too.
I mentioned the idea of painless childbirth in response to a question on someone else's forum regarding epidurals, and the reason for that was because I have come across that idea over and over again in my research. I never claimed to know from experience. But since there have been numerous recorded instances of this occurring, I believe it is possible.
Perhaps if you actually read a whole entire book (i know- sounds scary, huh?) about Hypnobirthing, the Leboyer Method, the Bradley Method, or many other ways to birth naturally, you may just find out that many women have experienced an intense but painless (drug-free) birth. All of these methods mention the painless concept in their studies- I would suggest that you do more than a few minute's worth of research though. Not all women have pain-free births, but I believe it is possible.
So have your fun comparing levels of agony and pain with your friends. I'd perfer not to partake in that sort of negative energy though.
