Question

posted 12th Jul
Ok I am almost 37 weeks and when I went for my check up on Thursday I had a new doctor. Now I was there to get tested for some stuff along with the strep B. Well they inserted that little vaginal opener thing and did what they needed to do. Then after she was done with that she had asked me if I was having any werid discharge and I said no. Then she proceeded to check me for her self and then told me that she could feel my sons head. Yet she didn't tell me if I was dialated at all or anything like that. So my question is does anyone know if it is possible for them to feel the babies head without me being dialated? Oh and I have yet to drop or have my bloody show and I have only have BH a few times if that makes any difference.

Yes. My sons head is actually in the way of my cervix, so the doc has to force his fingers around it to feel for effecement and dilation. I never "dropped" either. I think he was always in postion. lol. I was only 1 cm the first time he checked so yeah, it's possible.

That's what I was thinking but she didn't tell me anything and I imagined that if I was dialated that I would have been told. Lol

I don't think the doctor means she can literally touch his head, she means that she can feel the pressure of his head through your vagina.

Oh well she actuallly said she could feel his head and that he would probably be moving around alot more that day then usual because of it. But I don't know, I just wish my regular doctor would have been the one to check me and what not.
