Questions about Laborness...

posted 12th Jul
Alright, so this morning around 3:30 I went to the bathroom and had my bloody show. It was really mucousy at first and then started to just stream out when I stood up it just was gushing out of me. So I called L&D and they had me come in, they thought it was amniotic fluid. I went in and got all hooked up was having some contractions and they did the tape test and it came out negative. The checked the area to, 1 cm dialated 75% effaced and he's at a -1. So they sent us home around 6 this morning. Since then I have been having some serious lower back pain, my entire pelvis is killing me, I am still flowing with the mucous plug and I am terribly crabby and crying. My question is, is this how you were feeling before you went into labor? Also, how long is this mucous plug going to keep flowing out?

Thanks

My mucous plug never really....flowed.....but it came out slowly over 3 weeks. Everytime I got checked, some came out the rest of that day and the next. I had blood in mine shortly before my water broke. But I felt like you are feeling for about two or three days prior to going into labor. But it does sound like it could be really soon for you!! good luck and labor dust!!!

Yeah..... mine either. I've never heard of it flowing. Hmmmm. That is curious. It's like a blob of snot type of consistancy... is that what you're having when you talk about the 'flow'?

I always went into labor within a few days of losing mine. Keep us updated!

The morning I had my daughter I started having some back cramping and when I went to the bathroom, each time it had a bloody tint to it. That went on from about 8am on. I ended up having my daughter at almost midnight, but I was 4 cm at my 39 week appointment 2 days before that. 6cm when I got to the hospital. Good luck!

Thanks for the input, I'm actully waiting to hear back from my doctor now to see what he has to say.

The consistincy of it is now really stringy and watery, but still bloody. They did check that this morning at the hospital and said it was still mucous. So yea, it almost feels like terrible period flow, although its not that much. But you would think it would have stopped by now.. right?

I just wanted to tell you that when my water broke and I was 100% sure it did..I went to the hospital for them to tell me after doing that little test that it was negative for amniotic fluid..and they were going to send me home...me and my hubby argued with them that my water did in fact break..and after several test and about 10 nurses checking me out...they finally agreed that "o yah I guess it did break"..this also happened to a friend of mine

So make sure you stay on your docotor's and asap!!

And days before labor I was extremely irritable and shakey and dizzy feeling..

Let us know what happens!! Good luck!!
