posted 12th Jul
My son is 15 months old VERY picky as far as eating goes. Still can not get him to eat meat! He has a total of six teeth. Four on top two on the bottom. He will eat mac'n'chesse, sliced chesse, dry cereal from the box, any kind of fruit you can feed him, and of course snack stuff like crackers, chips and all that. I just don't know what to do to get him to eat!! Espically other times!! I get so frustrated because he won't eat. We have talked to his dr. and he has been great!! We even went to a speicalist. Its baisically just wait it out. well what do I feed him in the mean time. Mac n chesse every day!! AHHHH! Thanks for listening and any suggetions you can offer. I really appericate it!

His pediatrician didn't have any suggestions as to how to sneak it in either??

I would do as someone else said... put it in the mac n cheese.

If he'll eat a salad chunk up some lunch meat and toss it in there.

Never worry as long as they eat fruit, dairy and grains you can usually get protein in there some way, my youngest still doesn't eat meat very often.Try flaked tuna in his mac-n -cheese, give him eggs, and peanut butter if there are no allergies in the family.I am not a big beleiver in pushing shitty garbage foods like hot-dogs, chicken nuggets(I'd rather my kid eat mac-n-cheese fruit and dairy every day rather than eat empty calories and trans fats.Kids need fat but only good fats.Even if you don't like fish, try some on him(salmon is a great source of essential fats) use whole wheat pasta and make your own mac-n-cheese, and push veggies and fruits-he'll be fine just don't offer him crappy foods instead because you feel like he isn't eating enough-that'll open up a whole new kettle of problems.

There is nothing wrong with anyone, even a child eating hot dogs or chicken nuggets every once in a while.   Especially if he/she is picky and won't eat meat... those are simple meats that are easily cut into small pieces and mixed w/ other foods.

Besides its not as though she'd feed them to him all the time or those be the only food he gets... and there is such thing as homemade nuggets and such. Which I would think wouldn't be "shitty garbage".

Whoa, I didn't mean it as vehemently as you took it, I was just saying, I'd rather my kids eating a few good foods rather than a bunch of non-nutritional foods. My kids have a hot-dog now and then-everything in moderation is my motto. However I have a few good friends who give their kids shit if they don't eat their nuggets say and meanwhile they have eaten 5 raw carrots 10 grapes, a slice of brown bread-or one friend is soooo worried about her son refusing food that she lets him eat dorritos for supper so he won't starve-that I do not agree with.Sorry if I wasn't clear-I am not an absolute nazi when it comes to food but do lean towards healthier choices.

Ah, okay. It seemed as though you were totally against hot dogs/nuggets all the time and that you were "bashing" my examples of foods that children usually will eat, even if they're picky.

I don't agree w/ letting children eat junk all day every day either.

Fruits and vegetables are very important and if you're able to provide them as snacks more so than chips or other junk, then yes, you should do so.

I agree!

Have you tried lunch meat? (warm it up to kill any bacteria)...Megan loves sliced turkey. I give her a turkey sandwich a lot for lunch. Peanut butter (if no allergies, just like someone else said) is a good alternative for protein too. Although my oldest hates peanut butter AND most meats.   So I understand your frustration.
