Got My Tubes Tied Yesterday

Wow, that was an experience. When I 1st got to the hospital and they started prepping me, they gave me an IV. Well when they inserted the IV I almost passed out on them. Probably didn't help i hadn't eaten since the night before.

After the surgery I was so out of it. I couldn't hardly keep my eyes open. They said I couldn't be discharged until I peed. Well I couldn't. I should have been discharged by noon. Instead I wasn't discharged until 3:30, because I finally just said I peed, I didn't, but I was sick of the hospital. And I was in so much pain, but they couldn't give me meds, so I had to pick up my perscriptions in order to get some relief.

Last night it was so hard just to get comfortable, and same with today. The nurse recommended that I don't lift anything, including my baby until I talk to the doc. Well its Saturday, how am I suppose to get ahold of him, guess I'll have to have him paged. I just want to hold my baby girl. My boyfriend had a hard time with her last night, cause she wanted mommy, and I broke down in tears cause I wanted to hold her so bad and comfort her.

But at least the surgery went well, and I'm glad I'm home. Just wish I had more help at home.

When my mom had hers done, her doc took a few snapshots of it. Looks kinda gross. I can't wait to get mine done, but I promised the fiance we could try for a boy soon after this one comes so I have a ways to go ::sigh:: I hate pregnancy, but love kids. I really don't want to have anymore...but, I suppose it would be nice for my fiance to have a son to carry on the name. I told him though, 'you get one more...if it's a girl, then sorry for your luck' LOL

I hope you get to feelin better, soon. Keep up with the meds and call the doc if you got any issues. My mom was kinda wore out for about a week after she had hers, but she's SSOOO happy about it now cuz she can 'do it all she wants and not worry about the foam' (I guess that was her form of birth control) LOL

I couldn't believe that they didn't give you any pain meds! They can't deny it to you. I think the nurse was too lazy to notify your doctor. I'm sorry that you couldn't hold your daughter. You'll be back to your noromal self soon.

I know what you mean. I have 2 boys already, and just got my girl, so we're done.

Yeah, I wasn't to happy when she told me no, that they'd have to contact the doctor 1st, then she kept dragging me to the bathroom to make me pee, which I couldn't, but so she could get me out of there I guess.

That sucks that you've had a hard time. I'll be having my husband get a vasectomy. We've already discussed it, and I told him I wasn't getting my tubes tied that he could get the vasectomy. He agrees.   You could probably hold your baby, just don't lift her. Have your boyfriend lift her and put her in your arms. I think that would probably be ok.
