7 month old sleep issues

posted 11th Jul
my lil guy just turned 7 months old this past week and is still not sleeping through the night. he wakes up about every 2 hours to nurse and its getting ridiculous. i feed him baby food 3 times a day on top of BFing and an occaisional watered down juice. my hubby will be home from the desert in a few days and im worried this will drive him bananas. i am starting to question what the issue is at this point. sigh. the baby and i are currently having a standoff. me trying to get him asleep again, and him holding out for the boob, he sure is as stubborn as me and my hubby

Are you opposed to trying a method of crying it out?

i have tried letting him CIO for naps. the result is usually 1hr or so of crying and 15min nap, then he wakes up crying again....so thus far it has just made me feel like a horrid mommy when i have attempted it

When I let my son cry, I make sure to go in there every 5-10 minutes and rub his back, tell him I love him but I don't take him out of the crib. If you take him out of the crib, he'll just learn that if he cries long enough, mommy is going to save him. It will be hard the first couple of nights but it seriously only took 2 nights and he slept through the night after that.

Another thing you could try (that my doctor recommended) is when he wakes up to eat, don't feed him right away. Try to get him to sleep other ways and keep stretching out the amount of time before you feed him again. He needs to get used to going a long stretch of time without eating at night.

Good luck with whatever you try!
