WOW! First off people are totaly crazy, and why would you put a gun to 5 year old? He deserves to be in prison and should have stayed there... I don't know if there is really anything they can do, since they don't have any 'evidence' of the threat, but its still a threat none the less, so maybe when they go to the police they can tell him when he gets out and see if they could have atleast an officer kind of on patrol around their house just to make sure nothing happens, idk if they can do that or not, but its a thought.

For your family's sake, I really hope this guy is just being an idiot and bluffing, because if he goes through with it... then well someones going to catch him and he'll go back to prison, but this time he wont be coming back out...

your family needs to contact the prosecuter ASAP and take the letters and the information to him. They can stop his release from jail if he poses a threat!

If his mother refuses to cooperate with a police investigation, or lies, she can be charged with obstruction and they CAN search her home, whether she likes it or not.

the next time his mom shows up at their house and if she has the leters have someone call the police and try to keep her there til they come that way she hast to show them the letters and then hopefully they can do something about it that way...that might even get his mother introuble too

I thought that the jail/prison read all incoming and out going mail. They didn't see the threats?! He's supposed to get in trouble for that.

no they only read incoming not outgoing as far as i know

Since he's threatening life the cops can always go over to the guys house and search for the letters I'd do that asap though that's really creepy.
