Damn the Stupid Internet

posted 11th Jul
So my little one gets the hiccups many times a day and I Googled (like an idiot) if it is possible to get them too much and came across a poll that mentioned the spasms being seizures and not hiccups and of course now I am completely freaked out. I know that was like the longest sentence known to man and if I weren't such a basketcase right now, I would probably edit it. This is why after almost every visit, my OB tells me to stay off the internet. Am I crazy? Is this possible? Should I be worried?

No don't be worried. You should smack your hand for even trying to type in google on the address bar. Babies get hiccups all the time, it's ok. No more googling for you.

my second baby had hiccups every day while i was pregnant. he is just fine, never had a seizure. i would try not to worry so much, and there is nothing you can do about it right now anyway. if there is a problem you should know shortly after delivery, and then you can worry. for now, just try to enjoy your pregnancy. relax, go get a mani-pedi, read a book. you will feel better, i promise!

OMG YOU'RE CRAZY!!! Totaly kidding!  I've never heard of that before. Thanks alot now I'll be worried to! Nah, in all seriousness I wouldn't worry. As long as you're going to your appointments like you're supposed to and your Dr. is happy with your progress I'm sure all is fine!  My son got hiccups ALL the time when he was in my belly. It's perfecfly normal.

My fiance has epilepsy...he has Grand Mal seizures...
I did a research paper about epilepsy.
What I've learned?
Hiccups are very different than the mildest case of seizures.
Stop googling.
If your THAT worried, take him to a neurologist.

Thanks, ladies. I am just so close to holding my little girl. And of course, like every mother-to-be, I want everything to be perfect. 19 more days to go!
