i dont think its a good idea personally ecspecailly late in pregnancy they need to keep track of babys growth and position

Yes it is a bad choice. Prenatal care is important. There really isn't anything more they can do during the appointments other then the things THEY need to do. It might not seem like much to you but it is important information for the doctor. Plus they still need to do other tests before labor like GBS and what have. You are having a baby, you don't have a cold, it is something you should probably take seriously...especially toward the end.

they dont have you pee in a cup or check your blood pressure, now is the most crucial time for you you could get preclamsia and you would never know

Yeah.  I'm gonna vote bad choice.  I wasn't high risk but I developed high blood pressure and ended up on bed rest.  After that, my son quit growing at 35 weeks, so I had to be induced.  There's no telling what would've happened had my midwife not been measuring me at each appointment.  That's why she was concerned that he wasn't growing properly, and she was right.  He was born at 39 weeks, and was only 5 lbs 11 ozs.

very bad choice. i know it sucks but a week b4 baby comes it can flip and become breech or you can develop preeclampsia or anything can happen at the end. its almost over. stick it out. its worth it

Hmm...that's a decision only for you to make. Things can happen late in pregnancy that they may need to be aware of before you deliver. As in...everything may have been okay up til now but, you could suddenly develop pre-ecclampsia and they're going to need to know if the baby has turned head down so they can prepare for a breech delivery in case it hasn't.
But, I also hate the doc. I figure up until about 30 years ago, women really didn't have prenatal care and apparently it wasn't so bad since the human race hasn't died out. If it weren't for the fact that I had alot of problems with my last pregnancy I'd probably only go every 3 months.
Take everything into consideration, do your research and make an educated choice for yourself and your baby.

I just read your other thread...you are on pelvic rest due to spotting and contractions. Are you retarded?

Not all clinics check for protien in urine at every visit, but I'm sure they weigh her check her blood presure. Maybe she just doesn't consider that "pregnancy related" since they are typical doctors office things.

Surely they check the baby's heartrate too.

If not, she doesn't need to stop going to her appointments, but I'd sure be finding a different Dr!

There's a reason they want you to come back more often toward the end of your pregnancy (most complications show/are detected). Although I "feel your pain" on wasting time in the waiting room, I'd still suggest that you keep your appointments. Maybe get your OB to stretch them apart by a few days (i.e. if he says a week, ask if 10 days is okay) but don't avoid them altogether!

so does this mean you won't take your baby to well baby visits? Because all they do is weigh and measure her. I mean really what a waste of time
