themes for a bed room for ages 15months to a 4 years

posted 11th Jul
Hey ya’ll…I need some suggestions for my son’s room.. He is 15 months old and I want to redecorate it.. Right now the walls are light green and Winnie the pooh is the theme.. Pooh was not my 1st choice but I got so excited about becoming pregnant that I went shopping the next day and it was the only gender neutral theme I could find…anyways…At 1st I wanted to do it in camo (we’re from the south and HUGE deer hunters) but my husband wants to do it in racing.. I know a lot of kids with camo an racing rooms…so I am trying to find something else something different.. I definitely want a “theme” so if you have any suggestions let me know.. also we will be moving in3 years so the room doesnt have to "grow with him" we will redo his room again when we move.. i want it to be kinda timeless like wouldnt be out dated in a couple months...Hahaha I am also redecorating my sons/guest bathroom, living room and kitchen...so any suggestions would be nice.. I suck at matching colors and I have bad taste haha.. I want like a southern/traditional home but with a trendy twist..(if that makes sense)
hereis thecamo set it like..

I would say do it in the racing theme.
That camo is really ugly, IMO.

I am having a tough timethinking of something bc I am not a fan of that camo print...just my (vegetarian) taste, I'm not into hunting.  Could you do the colors of the camo w/ out using the bed set that lots of people have?  I think that something more childish might siut an 18 month old better....like trains, cars, construction, etc.  Are you a very patriotic family?  A red, white & blue theme might be a cute idea.  The bright, bold colors would appeal to your son, and I bet you could find a TON of stuff to match.  Monster trucks or demolition derby might be a cool theme as well.  Does he like any particular kids show?  Bob the builder, backyardigans, sesame st?

this is really random..but i have a few questions about being vegetarian.. this maybe stupid..but i saw this video on line about them abusing cows and about them using sick cows in school lunches and i was thinking about becoming vegetarian just because i dont want to be a consumer of meat if thats how they treat the animals.. i think even if its bred for food it still deserves a humane death and to be respected..anyways when i said something about it to my husband he said he didnt want our son raised that way but he respected my choice..also my whole family are huge deer hunters and meat consumers.. my FIL even processes deer meat.. and my daddy makes a living shipping horses to slaughterhouses inmexico and other countrys for people to eat...i just wondered how u delt with other people commenting on your choice to not eat meat??? maybe its just me but it really bothers me when other people dont approve of something i do.. i let it go to my head and i worry about it..

Well, in the meat processing industry, of course there are going to be some cases of abuse...we can only hope that it is not EVERY case.  Your better bet, to have "cruelty free" meats is to buy free range or organic.  At least then you know that they have not been pumped full of steroids.  As far as comments, yeah, people do comment on my choices, however I have been vegetarian for 12 years...and I am not changing for anyone else!  People told me that I "needed" to eat meat "for the baby" when I was pregnant, but my dr begged to differ!  They said that a vegetarian diet is usually very healthy, and even if you cut out SOME meats then you will be doing your body good (as long as you replace them with vegetables and whole grains, soy products, etc).  I have to get ready for work, so I can't really get into detail now, but I'll come back to this thread later on and tell you more

What does your son like: car, animals, etc.. How about a safari or jungletheme. Racing or car/truck are alsogood. Hehe crazy about one character in particular ? We started our son's room with a general car theme (because he love cars) and ended up with a Cars (the movie)theme. My son adores that movie.

he really likes dogs, and anything with wheels haha.. he loves trucks and cars..i love the movie cars but i am not sure what he likes..we dont allow him to watch much tv.. i like the jungle theme but i have seen a bunch of theme lately.. i was thinking maybe a frog or bug theme.. ya know cute bugs haha like in the movie a bugs life.. but i think those might be kind of hard to find.. i was also thinking maybe a camp or cabin theme.. like woodys or something.. that way we could do some hunting stuff..

i have never shot a deer.. i dont think killing animals for food is cruel.. my family eats every deer they kill..and we're in a hunting club with strick rules so its not like they can shoot everything that they see...i thinkif they torture them thats cruel.. in the video i saw they were beating the cows in the head for no reason and kicking and stabbing them... one of the cows got its eye ball stabbed.. i stopped watching it after that.. and i was doing some more research on it and i found another video were they showed cows so sick they couldnt even stand up and it said those cows were killed at a slaughter house that provides 70 percent of the meat for school lunchs.. it just kinda made me worry about getting ill from them..
