re: The need for name brands.

That's what you're paying for. A tag. I have a pair of sweats from Deb that cost me $10. I have a pair of VS sweats someone gave me that were $40.

They feel the same to me. I even have sensitive skin! (I've heard that excuse. "My skin is sensitive! Only the name brand's are comfortable!")

When I grew up we could never afford anything "Name Brand" so I always told everyone they were the nerds for having expensive stuff when ppl made fun of me. But then, most ppl did not make fun of me much bc I was the brainiac bitch and if they pissed me off I would not help anyone with their assignments.   Then as a teenager when I made my own money, I went further away and would only buy stuff made by artisans and such... My hippy days LOL   Now I am a big fan of Walmart or garage sales LOL The closest my kids get to "Name Brand" is Faded Glory LOL Like the line of the Gretchen Wison song "... I can buy the same damn thing on a Walmart shelf half price..." LOL

In high school you are judged by your clothes. If you want to fit in, you need to wear the "cool" clothes.
I never cared to fit in. I wore whatever I wanted. Hell, I even shopped at the Goodwill. I don't know what the big deal is either.

I think the only name brand things that have ever made sense to me is name brand shoes. They're more comfortable. If I don't have the "Right" ones my back, legs, and feet are acheing at the end of the day and I have a mostly sit down job   But other than that I don't get it.

I dislike name brand clothes , shoes , & purses .

I feel like it's money going down the drain ..

I went to a parochial highschool... we wore uniforms... it wasn't a big deal. The biggest deal was whether you owned a straitening iron that made your hair look like flat straw or not...

I think that some moms want a brand name diaper bag, because they see it as a status symbol. Also I notice that a lot of moms want their babies to rock Jordans. It's all the label.

Eh, Will's got some Nikes. Not Jordans, though... but that's only b/c they were $2 second hand and looked like new, lol.

I have bought them for 20$

compared to 80$ air force ones .

Rob's aunt is a name brand junkie.

She gave Robbie some nike crib shoes with a nike hat. It doesn't fit him yet...
