Preeclampsia??

I went to my doctors appointment today and she said i kinda had a high level of protein in my urine and she said that it was not a good sign.I am 38 weeks pregnant. So when i got home i looked up what protein in urine could mean and every website said the same thing..that it could be Preeclampsia. So i was just wondering if anyone on here has had Preeclampsia or knows someone who has had it.I am scared that it could harm my baby. Any advice isgreatly appreciated

Yes, I had it.. Protein in the urine can also be a sign of HELLP Syndrome (which I also had, and is a variant of pre-eclampsia).. I got sick before 29 weeks and delivered at exactly 29 weeks.. so you're lucky you are 38 weeks!

I had it and had to be induced at 38 weeks. My blood pressure was high and I was really swollen. Do you have either of those things?

I had it. I also had elevated bp, pitting edema (really bad swelling), saw stars, and had abdomen pain. I was induced at exactly 39 weeks and my baby was fine. As long as your doctor is monitoring you now and during labor, the risk of it harming the baby (or you) should be minimal.

I had it high blood pressure and the protin. Find out when i was 28 weeks along. I got sent right to the hospital for more tests. that hospital ended up sending me to another hospital that can deal with premies that are born that early. I was in the hospital for 5 days, they said i had it and it was high risk. everyday they took blood, and tested in because they also thought i had hellps which i did.they gave me two shots to mature my babies lungs and put me on magisum so i wouldnt have a seziure. The on the 4th night my blood pressure was insanly high and on tuesday,. the 5th day they came in and told me i was to have an emergry c-section because my plates where low and my organs were going to fail. So..i had to have a blood transfusion and was prepared for the c-section. I was also put under anexisa so..i was asleep through the whole thing. i woke up in the icu with a tube down my thoart and all i wanted to do was see my baby.


I wasnt told untill after all of this that i could have died.

I started having high blood pressure at 30 weeks but had no other symptoms. So far its not preeclampsia but I have to go see perinatal specialists twice a week to have my babys heart monitored and an ultrasound. They said I'll probably be induced at 39 weeks if everything goesokay. No swelling or blurred vision. I feel perfectly normal. No protein in urine. The doctors are very surprised. I hope it does not turn to preeclampsia!

I've gained 100 lbs with my pregnancy. I have elevated blood pressure if I walk or sit up and severe swelling in my ankles and legs. They're worried about me having preclampsia or toxemia. I'm 37 weeks & 3 days. I go back to the doctor tomorrow to see how everything is going.
