I'd say pull out the potty any time. Let her play with it, sit on it, or even potty on it if she wants to. Don't force her at all though. You can actually start to teach her when she has a better understandind of words, and when she is able to pull her own pants up and down. My daughter learned at 2 1/2. When you do get serious about it (maybe around her second birthday) I strongly recommend skipping pull-ups and going straight to underwear. There will be accidents but I think kids learn faster that way.

also, if she is walking announce to her when MOMMY is going to the potty and take her in there with you with her own chair and let her mimic you on the potty.

they will tell you when they are ready. And when they are ready, it's easy to do. Maddy started giving us signs she was ready. She was interested in the potty, would ask to be changed, etc. Then one day, Madison told me she wanted panties on. So we talked about where to go when she had to pee pee and poo poo. She told me on the potty. I put it in her play room so she wouldn't have to go far and she just started doing it. I had tried earlier but to no avail so I didn't push. She was about 33 months or so when we ditched the diapers for good and it was smooth sailing because SHE was ready....not me.

when my daughter was 2 I started by constantly putting her on the body for like 10-15 minutes on and off and even sometimes i let her run around with no pullup on or no underwear... sooner or later she got on it herself..... but believe it or not it took me only 3 days before she got the hang of it.. Now my daughter is 10yrs old and she helped me potty train her brother 2yrs ago..He is 4 now.. and i did the samething within a week he was potty trained... with a time and alot of repeating the same thing over and over and over again it will pay of but make it fun.... Likedo a pee pee dance orlet them read a book on thepotty.... eventually it will pay off.....

Those are all interesting ways of potty training ,
I'm thinking about starting her when she's about to be 2 .
Hopefully she catches on , but ya'll still use diapers at night right ?

because I still want to put diapers on at night , just in case .

& Thanks girls .

No, after the first day of 'getting serious' with her, she slept in underwear. She had one accident about a week later, but otherwise it's been fine! I think most people use something at night though. I just didn't want another thing to have to work her out of.

Absolutely agree. This is what we did with my son and when we went full go (he was 2 1/2) it only took a week before he was fully trained.

Ya other wise, they don't learn not to pee in the bed...

IMO it's easier to go all in when your serious,

I have a friend who is potty training her 9 month old

ya they believe in potty training before they can walk.   Seems like a waist of time to me.
