I used pull-ups when introducing the potty so they could pull them up and down on their own and "pretend". Once they actually started using the potty then I took the pull-ups away. My kids dont peewhen they sleepfor some wierd reason they havent since they were born so bed wetting was never a issue.

They start before they can crawl too..... I agree I think it's dumb. Way to much work for way to long, she was all happy that she hasn't had to change poopy diapers, she is actually going on the little potty, but I would much rather change a diaper than clean out a little potty.

I think I would too ,
but my mom told me to always have water in their ,
& leave it in the restroom .
so when they are done it will just slide right off into the toilet .

my stepdaughter is 18 months and her mom is trying to potty train her but she doesnt seem interested in it plus she doesnt tell us that she has to go to the potty much less can say anything or make gestures about when she is going to the bathroom...it all depends on the child and when their bodies and minds are ready   too bad the babies mom is wasting her money on training pants and her time ..she tries to make her grow up too fast ...it really annoys me

Oh ok, I guess that may make it easier... I honestly think those little pottys are gross, and I hope we can skip that all together.

It might happen. My oldest wouldnt use a toliet at all. Not even with a smaller seat on top so she had the potty chair. My son, however, would never use the potty chair and went straight to the potty seat being on the toliet.

whatever my daughter prefers i'll be okay with .
& lol i would think it's easier for a boy to use the potty chair , since it's shorter .

My boy was 2 1/2. He got it in a week. Dont use Pull Ups, they will think of it just as aanother diaper. We used the seat that goes on top of the toilet and it worked great. Just try to introduce them to the toilet and see how they take to it. You will know if they are ready. You can also try buying some cool stickers they will like and every time they "go" on the potty, they get a sticker. Its helpful for them to "see" their progress. Once they fill a page or something like that, they can have a reward. There might be a few accidents, but dont get discouraged. Also, let them pick out a bunch of underwear with a theme they like.

and to answer your question about using them at night. The only reason I did was because she was havig good success during the day but in the past had been upset over accidents. I don't want hr to feel that way when waking up in the morning so it's best for me to use the pull ups right now. She almost always woke up dry though, but we kept them on just in case. didn't want to bruise her ego lol

Yeah, I feel bad for kids that HAVE to wet the bed to learn. I think it just upsets them more then anything. If they didnt do it on purpose and they get upset over it then I would not make them keep doing it that way.

thankfully we didn't have to do that to her. She go tit on her own and we took the pullups away

we still have a hard time with naps sometimes though. But she already wakes up from naps in a bad mood lol

We did use the Pull ups at night though. Saves the matress and their self-esteem.   After a couple weeks, Alex started to stay dry through the night

What if I put like a towel under her at night instead of pull-ups ?

that way she doesn't get use to them
& It saves me from washing my sheets every night ?

good idea , or no good ?
