my 2yr old is smarter than me

My son will be three in Oct., and for some reason he just could care less about being potty trained. He will pee on the potty, but only enough to get his treat. Then like 2 mins later, he's screaming TEE-TEE and running for the potty. He's just trying to get another treat! He holds in his pee so that a few seconds later he can go again and get another treat! We will go through this for hours! I try telling him that he has to pee pee eveything, but no luck. AHHH! it is driving me nutts! And poop...yeah right. He only craps in his diaper. We have done everything that anyone has suggested, but I guess he's just too smart for us dumb old parents!

Haha, my sister did the EXACT same thing when she was potty training. Crazy kids! She wouldn't go poo on the potty for awhile either. I don't know WHY they'd wanna go in their diapers though.

Hey, my husband will be 21 in October and he wont listen either. Weeeird.

Tell him he has to go lots and lots to get his treat! And if he only goes a little he can't have it.

My cousin had the same problem with her son. She had to end up doing a chart with stickers and if he used the potty all day with no diaper accidents he got a treat after dinner.

We taught my nephews to potty train with stickers. It looked like a chart. One side for pee and the other side for poop. He got a little sticker for pee and a big sticker for poop. I dunno i you could change your reward method or if you'd even want to. He might throw a fit or something because he's smart enough to know that if he pees he gets a treat. ha ha! Little stinker!

Ha, tried that. He doesn't see a reason for stickers, thanks for the suggestion though.
