How much does your baby eat???

Ok I really could use some advice! Well my son is 3 weeks today and he was 4 weeks early.He was born at 6 lbs 2 oz and when I took him to his Dr app on Tuesday he was 7 lbs 12 oz!! Well his Dr said that he is doing really good. But I forgot to ask him about Kaden's eating. Right now hes wanting either almost 4 oz every 3-3 1/2 hrs or 2-2 1/2 oz every 2 hours. Is he eating too much or is it just how much then need if hes not getting sick off of it. I really need some help with this because I dont want him to be hungry and it hurt him. Ohh and I did call his Dr's nurse yesterday and she said that 3 1/2 oz every 3 hrs is ok but he doesnt always eat that way.

At that age they only eat what they are hungry for... he sounds jhust fine...

My son at 4 oz every 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. So, that sounds normal to me!

That sounds fine to me and if his weight is good i wouldnt worry about it.

yea it is normal...babies only eat when they are hungry..they don't know how to overeat when they are that small...my baby is 5 wks old and she breastfeeds for 15 minutes then wants anywhere from 3-5 ozs of formula, then she wants back on the breast for like 5 minutes then crashes....she does this every 3-4 hours..she is a piggy...i have no idea how much she weighs...she weighed 9lbs. 8 oz. at birth then at 2 wks she was 9lbs. 15 ozs...she's prolly 11-12 pounds now..lol

He sounds like he's doing great. If he was overeating, he would vomit.

I think they know when to stop. I sometimes lately have been giving my daughter 3 oz instead of her normal 2 oz at feeds just to see if she will take more and sometimes she does.

ny son was born almost a month early.. and by his second week he was drinking 4 ounces every hour.. until i was using too much formula... so ny his third week he was already drinking cereal in his formula....
