How important is it?

I know that prenatal care is really important. I'm almost 35 weeks and can't make it to my appointment tomorrow because I don't have enough for gas to get there (its a 40 mile drive). My last appointment I was 33 weeks and I had been going weekly since 30 weeks because I was having pre term contractions but my OB decided to give me a break and let me off for two weeks. I'm just worried that something may be wrong and we won't know in time if I don't make my appointment. Any ideas? or do you think I'll be ok until next week?

Is there someone who could give you a ride?

if you were having preterm contractions then its def pretty important that you go...

if you're having preterm contractions its IMPORTANT that you go to your appts. take the bus or something

is there a bus you can take? maybe borrow the money and pay someone back. i know that sucks but maybe you will feel at ease.

If your OB has already been concerned enough to have you coming in every week, I would think it VITAL to go in as scheduled. Just my opinion. Can't you find another way to get there? Or maybe you can reschedule for pay day? I just wouldn't be able to relax until I saw my doctor if I were you.

I live in a town of 1000 people... there is no bus. I think I will have to find someone to borrow money from. Pay day isn't until Tuesday and I think I'd be a nervous wreck if I waited.

Why don't you call your doctor and tell him you can't make it and ask him for any advice on your situation, or see if there is like a medi-van type of thing. Do you feel okay?...r u having contractions or anything weird?

yeah that is true... lol My car is completely out of gas though and my mom has to work and she's out of personal leave so I can't ask to use her car. I think I will call my OB and see what he says.

i know that here in texas if you are on medicaid they help you with transportation. you can dial 211 to get help finding a ride for free. maybe you can look online to see whats available in your area. try googling info about govt help in your area.

That suks about the gas thing....I completely understand, I like in the middle of nowhere and my doctor is about 30 miles away and all of my family lives about 30 miles away also, so I literally have to make sure ahead of time that I will have gas money for an appointment....it suks!.....I hope I have gas when I go into labor lol!

hey what insurance do you have? if you have caresource they will send someone to pick you up....any type of medicaid if you have it
