Tons of prayers needed PLEASE!!!

SO Shelby needs tons, and tons of prayers again! We found out today that they think she may have NEC or Necrotizing Entrocolitis, which is the same thing my first daughter passed away from! I am scared to death, and we (hubby and I ) need prayers to stay strong. And Shelby needs prayers to get better!

=[ That's so sad. My friend had a baby four months early, she lost him after two months cause he was undergoing so much. I hope the best for you. She's a gorgeous baby. You're in my prayers.

We are praying for you. It will be okay. Just keep your head up and be postive and stay positive. God has the final say.

Praying for you here too. My son had NEC too, he was on several antibiotics for 3 weeks and dropped to 1.5 lbs at 32 weeks gest before being allowed to eat again. I hope she recovers soon and avoids surgery as much as possible.

I am so sorry. She is in my prayers. I was so scared of that and when they told me my daughter was showing signs of NEC starting, I broke down. They started her on 3 different antibiotics, took her off feeds and put her back on c pap. She was doing horribly and had blood in her stool. She looked so sick and I didnt know if she was going to make it. That was June 9. She is home now and doing great. I pray your little one has the same outcome. Im sure the doctors will try everything in their powers to help her. Just stay with her, the best thing you can do for her is be there next to her and touch her. Stay strong.

Very similar to us (i just posted the same right before you!). My wee man had blood in his poop again a few weeks ago and it brought it all back  

I just saw shelby is 35 weeks, im really surprised to hear such a big baby suffering from NEC. I thought it was only VLBW babies that suffered as their digestive systems are usually faily well developed by 33-34 weeks.

From what I saw in the NICU that I worked at, even big babies can be seriously ill. Angelina only weighed 3lbs 5 oz when all that stuff happened and she did lose weight cause of being off feeds for almost 7 days. NEC is not a death sentence. At first I thought it was from what I had seen at work, but Angelina, Twinmami's little one and many others have made it out unscathed. If the doctors catch it early enough and start the antibiotics fast, it can be treated.
