Whats wrong with my 3 week old?

For the past 3 days my 3week old son has been crying a whole lot more then usual. I change him, feed him, play with him, swaddle him, comfort him and nothing seems to work! I am going to go crazy! when he eats he acts like its not enough so i upped it from 2 oz to 3 oz but then he would throw up alot more so i went back to 2 and he still acts like it isnt enough. then when i put him to sleep and try to put him down in his bed he wakes up in a screaming fit! so i will put him in the bed with me and he will be cool for about an hour or 2 and then it starts all over again. I have tried the mylicon drops but they dont seem to help. He has an appt on friday, nut i dont know what is wrong because after i try everything he is still screaming. I feel like a horrible mother because i dont know whats wrong with him and i cant seem to calm my child down. Has anyone had this problem?

my friends baby does this sometimes.. he just crys and crys for no reason.. he could be cauliky (Sp) ?

what is gripe water? And does it really work? How long does colic last? This is killing me! I feel ashamed because i cant get him to calm down. and i am relieved when he finally does sleep.

Gripe water is a natural version of mylicon. Didn't work any better than mylicon for my son. It does sound like your baby is collicky...sorry!
Try a nice tight swaddle with arms tucked in so that it's tight enough that he can't move, but can breathe of course. Then give him a pacifier. THen rock him left to right and pretty drastically...but not shaking..just a smooth rock from wayleft to way right. Make a loud,almost harsh sounding "sshhh". Loud SSSHHH noises in his ear are actually soothing at that age. try all these things at the same time and see if it helps.
if you've heard of the book "happiest baby on the block" this is basically what the whole book tells you. How long collic lasts varies from baby to baby, no true cure...sorry! good luck.

I think there's some kind of leg excercises, that help too, like criss-crossing them on babys shoulder..? and i also heard it you put a blanket in the dryer than put it around babys tummy, its supposed to make it better..

well if he acts like he wants more but he just spits it back up, try giving him the binkie right after you feed him.. sucking soothes babies and while they are eating, they are being soothed, so when the bottle is gone, that soothing is gone too... that just my theory though. kaleb was very colicy.
they make these colic tablets, i forget who makes them, you can google it and it will tell you...
but they worked wonders for me. nobody had said anything to me about these before and i was searching for something for kaleb's colic and i found these.. i'd give him three doses and he was just fine afterwards..

he could be gassy, try some gas drops. mylicon works great!

Sounds like a upset tummy. Try a dinner mint (the little red and white circle ones they give in resturants) in a 4 oz bottle of warm water. The mint will sooth his tummy. This was my Grandmothers trick when she was still with us. I used it on my kids and I plan to use it with my soon to be here Grandson Riley.
