No, however, messing with records to make it look like someone made quota is stealing. You weren't "forced" to do anything. So what you would have lost those days but you would have had more days with unemployment. They recieve unemployment if they quit for a "good reason" which you did not.

How stupid is that?! It is not the "technical" term for unemployment.

Notice its says "STATE" and not "company".

Well it came across as rude. Or at least that's how me and my hormones read into it.

But honestly it wasn't worth the money. I made usually about $300/hr and just the exposure I ended up feeling in the end was not worth the income...not even close. BUT that part of my life is over so it's all good

Apparently you don't get it. Unemployment Insurance is run by the state, paid for by the company. Can it be any more spelled out to you?

He made his quota because of it. It wasn't considered stealing. My husband needed his blackberry email set up, I had an employee that needed to hit quota. That wasn't the problem. The problem was I accessed my husband's account, and I guess we aren't supposed to do that - even though I encouraged everyone to bring in friends and family for more business. It was a new rule under Code of Business Conduct that I had no idea.

Sorry if it came off rude. It wasn't my intention. I'm a little testy with some of the drama going on right now, not to mention my husband has about three of his stupid gym buddies over right now, annoying the hell outta me!

Y'know, at least you got the experience of it though. You can't live with any sort of regret - just gotta keep moving forward and look at everything you go through on the way as things that make you into the strong person you are. Plus, you're gonna be a momma in August!

Actually your wrong Unemployment Insurance is the "technical term" for Unemployment.

If a company goes out of busisness the former employees recieve unemployment. Why? Because the state pays their unemployment and NOT the company. A company's rate can go up with more of their former employees filing for unemployment so they in turn have to pay the state more money which is why they sometimes fight whether or not a employee deserves unempolyment. Had you actually been "fired" then you never would have been denied unemployment because it more then likely wouldnt have been gross misconduct and had they listed it as that thenyou could have fought it. The end run is simply that you "quit" and in the states eyes you do not qualify for unemployment because you did not quit with good reason.

The ONLY reason I know any of this is because my mom tried to claim my step-dad was unemployed at no fault of his own. Fact of the matter is WAS his fault and he was just a lazy bum who thought he wasnt "disposable" so he could come to work only when he wanted.

You may not be a lazy bum like he was but you have to see that you made a bad choice in resigning to keep those days and that you more then likely will not qualify for unemployment which also means you will more then likely have to suck up the pay cut. You supposedly got 120 days paid vacation then why werent you looking for a job then or saving money to make sure you could cover bills? Where you planning on relying on "unemployment" to get everything for you?

No, I'm sorry. It still isn't paid by the state. The employer pays taxes into Unemployment, kind of a bank if you will. Even if that company goes out of business, it still has paid taxes throughout the time it had been operable.
Off the EDD website, "All employers other than public employers and nonprofit employers pay unemployment taxes. These taxes are based on the employer's experiences with terminating and laying off employees who then collect benefits. In addition to regular unemployment taxes, taxpaying employers also pay an assessment equal to 0.10 percent of taxable wages, into the workforce development fund (previously used exclusively for the dislocated worker program and thus known informally as the "dislocated worker fund"). The workforce development fund is used to support the state dislocated worker program, but also is used to fund other programs, such as job training. When the balance in the unemployment insurance fund is low, employers are required to pay a surcharge that is calculated as a percentage of the taxes they would otherwise owe. This surcharge is available to pay interest on money that is automatically borrowed from the federal government in the event that the state trust fund is unable to cover the benefits due to applicants."

I recieved not 120 hours of paid vacation, but vacation payout. Basically, they gave me a cut of my salary. I went from literally recieving an award for my store beating it's best May numbers ever, to the next week being told that I was getting canned. Honestly, what I was more concerned with was not the vaca payout, but having a termination on my record. And by no means am I basing everything on 'relying on unemployment'. I've been looking for a job since the day I left, and didn't realize how difficult it would be, or comparatively how much money I was making before. The whole topic of unemployment came up in my vent because they had approved me, and then turned around and denied me.

Why don't you have your husband get a part time job to help out a little more. He could do evenings or weekends or just around his schedule in general. That way he won't have as much time to harrass you about the gym anyway.
