1cm dilated

I went to the dr today and he checked me. He said that I was 1 cm dilated? I was so excited. Even though I am only about to 33wks. My dr told me not to get my hopes up because most women stay 1cm for weeks. I was just wondering if anybody has been 1cm for weeks?

I'm 38 weeks and I just now started to dilate to one centimeter. I'll let you know in a week if anything else happens lol

why did he check you so early?
hopefully you stay at 1 cm for a few more weeks, that baby still has 5-6 more weeks to be full term!

I was dilated to 4cm for a week before I had my last child...lol

womens' bodies do crazy things

i was told that i was 2cm a week ago and still nothing...My midwife said the same thing u can be dialted for weeks..

UGH!! I am 37 weeks and still closed!      

But yes, it is very normal to be dilated for weeks. My friend was dilated to 1 cm for over 4 weeks before she started labor

You need to dialate some now! That baby needs to get out here in the world  !

I was dialated at 1 cm for the last 2 wks I go to the doctor on friday lets hope I have made progress and Im 37 wks.

I am 31 weeks and went into preterm labor last thurs contractions every 2 mins.and they were able to stop the labor with procardia(a medicine to stop contractions)

and Im dilated to 1. Im on bedrest though b/c if hes born before 37 weeks he will have to be in the NICU b/c hes very small for his age.(2lbs 11oz and supposed to be 4 lbs)

the dr did tell me that I can stay at 1cm for the next 2 months so Im hoping this bedrest works and keeps him from coming early.

I've been at 1cm for a week now.

Oh no! So tiny. Do the doctors know why?

Don't stress about the weight too much. My little girl was 2lb4oz at 27 weeks and a mere 5lb at 35 weeks and she came out a healthy 6lb2oz at 37 weeks. She was little, but healthy! Now you go and relax and get in that bed  !
