Quoting Dev22:“ I do believe you are supposed to gradually cut back so that your body dosent go into shock with all the changes, but I have never heard of a Dr. telling someone to not try and quit at all.”
Quoting dea:“ smoking while you are pregnant is bad, period.”
Quoting Poofter.:“ smoking is bad period....”well yeah, of course. but i was just stating because she said something about it might not be bad when you are "so many months" or whatever.

It depends on how addicted you are, your going through the withdrawls. My son is fine I have been smoking less and less everyday and he is overweight for his gestational age. But the warnings are for like heavy smokers, I mean if you smoke a few day its still not that good but its not like a pack a day. I think thats where all the stuff comes from. I've talked to a lot of different drs and they all say something different.
Quoting Babe669:“ I have had 3 healthy babies and smoked during all 3 pregnancies. My DR has always told me to cut my smoking ... [snip!] ... before you feed again. That will give the toxins more time to move through your system and your milk wont be effected as much.”
Quoting Poofter.:“ I was told by my OB/GYN and Perinatal Dr., NOT TO STOP smoking. Just to cut back. I smoked 3 cigs a day IF THAT..sometimes I'd go a few weeks without a cigarette. My daughter is fine ”

Quoting dea:“ well yeah, of course. but i was just stating because she said something about it might not be bad when you are "so many months" or whatever.”Soory for posting late been out of the loop. I didnt say its not bad at so many months. I said that after the fifth month there is higher risk involved
Quoting dea:“ no major health concerns? my mum smoked the whole time she was pregnant with me and i came out blue!! ... [snip!] ... out blue!! i was having a hard time breathing because she smoked. smoking is terrible, period, how could it not cause problems?”
Quoting Poofter.:“ My daughter came out blue....come to think of it, most babies do...until they are cleaned off. and ... [snip!] ... cleaned off. and HOW do these doctors know that you having trouble breathing was directly related to your mother's smoking?”
